My BMI is around 21 but I’m completely skinnyfat. All flab and no muscle. My belly is flat and arms are skinny but I have incredibly big thighs. I’m worried that if I start working out and lifting my fat will simply turn into giant muscle stumps. Also, how do I get over the fear of going to the gym and getting judged for my form? I’ve never been to the gym before.

I barely eat anything in a day but my metabolism is so shit that I gain weight when I eat more than 1k calories a day. Thats why I want to get some muscle to passively burn the rest.
No, I’m just wondering if fat simply turns to lean when you work out, rather than right into muscle. Bulking season is a thing for a reason right? I plan to work out everyday too since I live above a gym.

I’m 5’10. I overestimate my meals too. Don’t eat breakfast, sandwich for lunch, rice and fish for dinner. Some apples as snacks.

You can (to some extent) improve your metabolism.
Start eating frequently. 6 times a day, 3 meals (breakfest, lunch, dinner) and 3 snacks (complex carbs, proteins or fruit).
Eat every 2 hours, this is important because this will get your body out of the "savings mode" so to speak.
This'll cause you to burn more fat because your body knows it gets enough nutritions so it doesn't need the fat all that much.

Sounds a bit crazy but I’ll look into this. I eat at like 12pm and 7pm so there are big time gaps usually.
I dealt with stupid eating issues as a teenager as every girl does and I think it broke my metabolism or some shit. I’m not smart but I have the feeling that my body is constantly in “starving mode” and takes everything it can get.

I was thinking that also, it's not crazy to assume either. You probably feel good so it is good.
I can tell from my own experience that it was has worked for me. Don't get me wrong, you still have to live on a calorie deficit, but you have to spread your food throughout the day.
I could explain in more detail but I don't feel like typing as much.
6 times a day, 3 meals, 3 snacks, 2 hours in between. Consistent supply is key.

Why would I lie about this. If you don’t think I’ve really tried I wouldn’t be interested in lifting or working out at all if it was simple as cutting down my calories. The only time I actually lose weight is when I eat around 600-800 cals instead. I swear that metabolism can get perma damaged from past dieting.

The only way your metabolism could be perma fucked is through drugs, or being sub 5% body fat (which you weren't) or being way over 35%. No, you're not in starvation mode, your metabolism is fine, you aren't counting calories right and you're eating around 2000 a day. All that aside, the reason people are shitting on you is because you said the one thing that all women say about lifting. "Duhhh I don't wanna instantly turn into a beefcake muscle head" trust me, even after years of lifting you won t gain shit for muscle

>count your calories (everything). Eat healthy, between 1500 and 2000 a day. Don't lie to yourself, you seem to be doing that.
>have an active life style (dont be lazy, take the stairs instead of elevators), walk at least 30 min a day.
>go to the gym 2 times a week. You only need 3 exercices: squats, pull ups, one exercice you like for abs.
If you do this, don't cheat, you will look good within a year.

i find that stronglifts is more lower body centric because you do 3x squats a week, so you might see a lot more lower body growth
