Cut/Bulk the biggest meme in the fitness world?

Not trying to prove a point more than posing a real question.

I'm 34yo 187cm, started lifting 4 months ago when i was 64kg with a big fat belly (god emperor of skinny fats) at 18bmi.

Gained 6kg and lost a good portion of my belly fat in this short period of time simply by lifting and eating at maintenance.

It's in the fucking sticky so according to Jow Forums i can't just ignore it, yet it falls flat with my experience.

You’re riding the noob gains train, wait another 8 months and you’ll understand why the bulk/cut cycle exists. That said, it’s mostly useless as a natty, as a recomp is still going to get gains, just at a slightly slower pace.
Bulk/cut cycles are really for lifters on gear.

Can you post your body please? I spun my wheels "recomping" for years. I think recomp is a meme and bulking is the only way to make real progress

For the most part yes it's a meme, because you can build muscle and stay at a low body fat if you've got the right nutrition plan. It's just not easy.

the cut bulk cycle is perfect for steroid users. All others should ignore it.

So as a beginner I don't need to keep cutting to get 10%bf?

I'm a noob at around 18%, started at somewhere around 24%.

I'm currently at 5'9" 145lb and was planning to cut down to 130lb where I'd be at 10%ish.

Been eating at 1000kcal deficit.

Could I seriously just eat at maintenance and still get to 10-12% in a few months?

If I eat at maintenance how long should I expect to hit around 12%bf if I'm making good strength gains? Cutting seems like it would be waay faster.

Noob gains negate the bulk/cut.
Try and do the same thing after lifting for 4 years.
