I found out that paused deadlifts really help work my upper back strength, which is required since it is a long way up and to full extension.

Conditioning is built in to 531 to various degrees. It's not specifically a powerlifting program, whatever that even means. TM is about increasing a rep max every week, if you can recover from your cardio and still make gains on it I'd do that for now.
531 is good but very slow and balanced which triggers a few of our trips here who enjoy marginal success in a single lift (squat).

There are few women who run gear on the gym and their hairlines are incredibly justed. It's like retracted halfway around their goddamn skull.
You can and should compete at any total. Obviously you should be doing nationals if you're senior and below 370 wilks or 340 and junior say, but you should definitely enjoy local competitions with your friends and club mates.
