Women are oversocialized and unable to handle any kind of solitude. A guy might want to spend some alone time in the garage or out fishing to clear his head, such a thing would never occur to women as they need to be surrounded and validated by others at all times.

I think it's more to do with the nature of people, boys are used to have to reach out for opportunities while girls are used to wait for them to come to them which doesn't always happen, so her reaction is to be sad that she's lonely at the moment instead of reaching out or whatever. for example guys don't care if they just heard about a party and go uninvited, girls do that less
