It finally happened. I hurt myself doing my favourite exercise- dips. Went to low and now one area, all the way up, next to the collarbone, hurts. Today is push day, which exercises should I skip or swap?
Should I swap flat bench for OHP as the main press motion? Drop or replace tri extensions and chest flyes?
Any advice on anti-inflammatory creams or diet to promote cartilage healing?
Or should I just bite the bullet and drop push days for a while and do pull-legs rotation instead?
I hurt myself today

>I hurt myself today
Do you still feel?
my sternum hurts
I hurt myself today
To see if I still feel
I focus on the pain
The only thing that's real
The needle tears a hole
The old familiar sting
Try to kill it all away
But I remember everything
What have I become
My sweetest friend
Everyone I know
Goes away in the end
And you could have it all
My empire of dirt
I will let you down
I will make you hurt
I wear this crown of thorns
Upon my liars chair
Full of broken thoughts
I cannot repair
Beneath the stains of time
The feelings disappear
You are someone else
I am still right here
What have I become
My sweetest friend
Everyone I know
Goes away in the end
And you could have it all
My empire of dirt
I will let you down
I will make you hurt
If I could start again
A million miles away
I will keep myself
I would find a way
To see if I still feel
Yep, you cracked your sternum.
That's why i don't do dips anymore, i still feel a discomfort while doing pullovers.
>cracked
Fuck, I hope not, it doesn't feel that bad. Maybe it's like a shin splint, just a micro-thing? I'm going to the gym now, will see what I can and can't do.
What kind of weight were you dipping when you felt sternum pain? I'm 66kg bodyweight and can do 7 reps with 25kg on a belt so that's 91kg but I only felt a little bit of pain and it went away quickly
I hope OJ doesn't mind if I hijack his thread.
What do you do to avoid injury of the ankle joint? Did a little running on the spot today and noticed that my right ankle started to hurt from the get-go. It doesn't hurt during regular walking, climbing stairs, when carrying weight, just when I try to jog/run. Any idea what might be going on?
Bodyweight, i was younger when it hapenned, i don't know if is true, but as a teenager/younger adult the sternum is not fully fusioned yet.
while im doing dips i only feel a little pain, but when i get off the bar and stop gripping it, my chest hurts like fuck.
Welp, I'm back. OHP and incline dumbbel press were fine, bench lagged behind due to some pain, I skipped dips and flyes, tri extensions were fine. Did a shit ton of stretching and foam rolling too. Will see how it goes tomorrow.

Everyone should stop doing dips, costocondritus is extremely painful and will get worse. It also may be known as tiers syndrome, it’s was so painful for me I couldn’t sleep for two nights in a row while going over the dosage for pain meds.
Xqc you need sleep get off fit
My sides
My first thought
So a little inflammation and pain was all it took to beat you huh
>pain meds
Was it something fun or just regular ibuprophen? Basically what I'm saying is, can I get prescription opiates by fucking up dips?
Please, does anyone know if xqc started lifting ? Appart from the fucking shnoze he would look soo good
>no homo
costochondritis breh.
heavy weighted dips (+135 lbs) did the same thing to me.
had to switch to exclusively pushing overhead for a few months.
