So the meme gripper I bought from Amazon broke the other day. It only went up to 40kg but it was still challenging enough for me as I fucked up my wrist a few years back because of some drug induced stupidity.
I want to get a new one, and am currently looking at CoC grippers as they look damn near indestructible. Plus working my way up through increasingly meatier and chunkier iron wishbones to gauge my progress sounds like a hell of a lot of fun and god knows I need to find more "bars to fill up" in the real world.
Are these any good? I'm hesitant to buy another adjustable gripper because, like I said, my last one actually and literally exploded on me. I've been making really sick hand and wrist gains from just lifting, eating heavy, and staying away from video games, and I'd really like to get into gripper training to see just how far I can push them into the stratosphere. My end goal for all of this is to be able to increase my work output; my hands and wrists are easily the weakest genetic links of my body so becoming a pianist or a painter or a professional gamer are completely out of the question for me. I just want to be able to use my hands relatively pain free and for long, arduous periods of time on WORK related things - things that make me money or involve fixing things/solving problems. I don't care for hobbies or recreational activities that involve my hands anymore; I just want to build the absolute living shit out of myself so that my hands/wrists don't hold me back when they're needed (e.g. work, fingering/fondling a girl, changing a tire, writing up reports or papers).
I personally like the adjustables, but CoC are nice if you have the money to spend on new ones anytime you make progress

I have two CoC grippers, the trainer (next to useless) and CoC 1. 1 was challenging when I first got it but I quickly worked up to a 20 rep max. Anyway, are they worth your time? Not really. They don't build grip strength, aside from crushing strength, which isn't useful for anything other than being better at doing grippers. They might be fun for you but they got old pretty quickly for me. As for building muscle, they're very inefficient and there are much better ways out there. My advice would be to save your money and start doing other tried and tested grip excercises if you want a stronger grip.

>CoC grippers Lmao gay

Agree with this, COC are good if you can afford a few, I have the T, .5, 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, 25 euro each but they will probably last a life time, I like em, theyve fixed my forearm pain Ive had for years within a month
Of course they improve grip strength, especially if you train timed holds which you should, Ive noticed a good increase in my double overhand dl, can do about 145kg for 5 reps without my forearms failing now and I can close the COC 2 with my right for 2 reps.

Are grippers enough for putting good forearm mass? I want to improve both my grip and my forearm size since it doesn't seem to fucking grow. I can deadlift 150-ish kg double overhand without hook or straps, but they're still small as fuck.

>Of course they improve grip strength, especially if you train timed holds which you should, Ive noticed a good increase in my double overhand dl, can do about 145kg for 5 reps without my forearms failing now and I can close the COC 2 with my right for 2 reps. No they don't. It's well known that they have little to no carry over to regular grip activities. And yes, I'm aware that the "correct" way to use them is to do timed holds. The fact that you argue about something that you're completely wrong about while being proud of being able to hold a 145kg bar shows how pathetic Jow Forums has become. You're a newbie and so shut up and let those who spend their time researching and exercising talk. Not up for debating with you so don't bother trying to reply because I'm not going to waste any more time with you.

No, CoCs are not useful for forearm hypertrophy. Not good at all. Have you tried hammer curls and reverse dumbbell curls?

So grippers are next to useless besides getting better at grippers? An occupational therapist gave me an adjustable gripper to help me when I was in the acute stages of my injury, so idk if that's 100% true but it does make some sense.
I'm still tempted to get one, honestly. I just don't want to leave any stone unturned when it comes to building myself up, and doubly so for strengthening muscles that contribute to hand and wrist integrity.
What of extensor work then? I use bands by IronMind for those and they've helped me quite a bit beyond getting better at spreading high tensile strength bands open with my fingers. I really doing think they have carry-over.
Parker Ross
Youve only done a 1 and think you know it all, you close the gripper the exact way you grip something and declaring something not up for debate just shows how much of a faggot you are, stay small
buddy pls forearm how to??? do I read this thread?? grippy?

Grippy yes

Grippers are great but they aren't the only way to train forearms. I assume you're looking for wrist stability? You want to do grippers but there's a lot more than that as forearms are complicated. Jeff from athlean X did a decent video, and presumably he'd only show safe exercises. Press ups on knuckles are great for wrist stability. A great one I used to use for a variety of things is holding a lightish kettlebell upside down in front of you with your arm at 90 degrees. This is great for shoulder and wrist stability. But yeah grippers are really fun and useful. Would also recommend a pull up bar as hangs and weighted hangs are also top tier

Go ahead, post your dyel forearms and refute yourself. If` you want to use forearm measurements in place of an argument then by all means. Suck on these bad boys.
Implying that's even you, you know the rules timestamp or fuck off, but even if it is you, you're fat? Like, big forearms on a fat guy means nothing, loser.
Evan Harris
What's wrong with you? I'm literally sitting here in the exact same clothes, I just took those photos a few minutes ago. You're so pathetic. Mad that I'm bigger than you? U MAD BRAH U MAD BRAH U MAD BRAH? AHAHAHAHHA!

I have a Robert Baraban adjustable gripper and a few CoCs. I highly recommend the investment, years and years of challenging workouts that you can do anywhere.
Cheers brah. Just back from the gym now, done pumping up those bad boys with some heavy ass hammer curls. One drop set is all it took after a moderate back session and BAM my forearms were dead.
