What works best for me is little food. Just so you don't feel hungry, at least for the better part of the workout. You don't want your body digesting like a madman whilst your body is moving heavy stuff

But, say you have a small caloric intake of like 400kcal an hour before working out. What would be best to have?

I can't eat before lifting or I'll puke or feel like I have to shit. I lift first thing in the morning, totally fasted. The thing is, its all about how you feel and how well you can perform. What do you do now and do you feel like you have enough energy?
