The art of habit

Still reading Plato's Republic. Got to the but about infanticide which was a bit yikes, but otherwise good book.

you are now aware that ancient peoples killed nowhere near to as many children as modern western countries do today, despite rearing children being much harder back then.

And how is it user?
I've read Prometheus Rising, lots of Alan Watts, Principia Discordia and currently I'm going through the Kybalion, although very slowly.

It's all over the place but in a way that makes sense. I can tell a lot of effort went into it. It's full of references to other books on the list too which makes it a lot of fun to read. How was principa discordia btw? I've heard it's a lot like Robert Anton Willson

It is, I mean there's lots of commentary from Wilson in the book.
Principia Discordia feels like an unfunny chore to read. The book doesn't provide you with any info, it's just meaningless blabber conveying the worldview of Discordianism. If you've read Prometheus Rising and have done the exercises there's absolutely no reason to read it. Even more so if you've read other works of RAW.

wtf bro that’s one of the best parts
Plato’s republic is literally what Jow Forums wants to be but cannot

Shit like "the law of fives" is essentially bullshit made to illustrate the Thinker and the Prover.
I guess the only thing in the entire book that isn't explained in Prometheus Rising is contained in the explanation of the symbolism of the Chao, the "Ying Yang" of Discordianism, where instead of dots you've got the apple of Eris and a pentagon. It's supposed to represent the principle of polarity. It's also better explained by non-dualism in Buddhism.
Long story short: little info hidden under lots of randumb XD humor

OK thanks for the info, doesn't sound like it'll be worth my time
