Hey Jow Forums, this is the only place is feel comfortable enough to share and ask for help so

I'm 21 and I don't remember having a "flat" stomach ever, not even talking about abs. I am aware that I have visible fat that blocks the abs but all my life, even was I was in 4th grade I had this potbelly.

The thing is, when I "flex" my stomach muscle it all tightens up and it suddenly disappear. As if my organs just "pour". When I breath it gets even bigger, making me think that the problem is not body fat but maybe lack of muscle in the stomach area?

I weight 84kgs, 187cm tall and work out 3 times a week.
When I was a teen I was extremely skinny(same height, 60kg) and even back then I had this pot belly, it never went away.

Something important to add, I have a genetic heart condition and pectus excavatum, these 2 combined make it extremely hard for me to do cardio but I'm willing to try again even if it's for short distances.

My diet is overall good, it could be better but I don't smoke, drink alcohol or soda and avoid junk food as much as I can.
I seriously feel like my body is fucked up, I'm not aiming for ripped, just not look like I'm fucking pregnant.

If anyone know what the fuck the problem is PLEASE let me know, I've hard the weak oblique muscles might be the problem and I'm gonna train them.
Other than that, is there anything else?

pic related, flex vs not flexed, it's worse than it seems.

What should I do?

Weak/non-existent

Do vaccums. Focus on keeping your posture upright and core tight all day every day

visceral fat

>As if my organs just "pour". When I breath it gets even bigger, making me think that the problem is not body fat but maybe lack of muscle in the stomach area?
I think that is exactly the issue. Your organs probably have a bunch of visceral fat around them, which makes them push out your abdomen walls, while your core muscles are weak and struggle to hold them in place.

Generally speaking, best exercises are going to be isometric ones, plus various crunches and cable rotations. Calorie deficit to get rid of some internal fat is probably a good idea too.

noted. can it be trained only by doing vaccums?

You need to cut, you have a slightly too high bodyfat%
Cut down to 10% and see if it is still a problem, make sure to keep going to the gym and eat 1g of protein per pound so your muscles don’t atrophy

Also if you haven’t done so already get the number your body needs to maintain weight and subtract by 500

It’s takes a long time, but if your consistence you’ll start seeing results in a few months, well you will see results immediately on your scale its just that it takes time for it to become noticeable

I admit i'm afraid of cutting because I cant stand being skinny again but I guess it's worth it.
Should I aim for around 75kgs for start?

Basically what I understand from you guys is that I have to cut because of visceral fat and train my core ab muscles more. Am I right?
Should I focus on anything else?

Thank you!

LOL so the answer is to eat better and exercise more. Wow. What ground breaking advice that isn't in the sticky. Oh wait it is.

Why do people even ask these questions when 99 percent ha e the same answers.

>I admit i'm afraid of cutting because I cant stand being skinny again but I guess it's worth it.
You're too fat so it's your only option.

you need muscles son. all around.

Bump

Thanks everyone.
I will cut and start working on my core muscles.

Even when I hit my highest weight at 238 my stomach was flat. You might have just naturally felt comfortable letting your stomach out. Losing some more fat will definitely help but if you ever get abs they are going to look pushed out because of the way you hold yourself. If it really bothers you just practice fixing your posture.

abs and back muscles = this problem is gone. i used to have the same thing, it happens when u have no muscles and sit a lot.

hi me, I have this same fucking problem and it's the worst thing ever.

Yeah fit shouldn't have any forms related threads being discussed. It should literally just be fat hate memes and juicers sharing nudes with all fitness deferred to the sticky.

To answer op.

You are a little overweight. But the main issue is your poor posture and weak core. You mentioned you can "suck in your belly", you need to focus on making that your default.

I get the same thing, I think it's mostly a postural issue because my stomach is flat if I lay down.

great to fucking hear im not alone in this mess
you both mentioned my posture, can you elaborate? I mean how is it even related? I have always had minor posture problems because of my pectus excavatum unfortunately. and I'm either studying or working so I sit ALOT.

My childhood sucked, I was addicted to videogames so I guess this is where it all began.

by saying working on my core - it's basically oblique and inner ab muscles right?
--------
and thanks again everyone, it really does mean alot to me.
Any other tips will be appreciated ofcourse

My stomach isn't flat when I lay down. it sure looks better but still..
It's the worst when I lay on the side, everything just pours. just a fucking mess

This is chilling op, i have the exact same problem exact same height and pectus excavatum.

damn it really is chilling
too bad there's no way to keep in touch, pectus is a bitch
but I will update once I see results

We're in the same boat OP
I'm going to focus on training my core and doing HIIT, and also lift so I don't lose my dyel muscles
