Guys, I finally did it, I hit the 1 pl8 bench club. 1 year ago I started with a weak ass 55 lbs bench.
Is this where the journey begins?

yes
I'm proud of you, but its sad, there are some guys who just walk up to the bench, never having benched in their life and do more, jay cutler for example benched 315 first time he ever benched fucking round with his friends in the highschool gym
Good job. I'm at 110 lbs for 5 reps. I stared with 65 lbs bench. I'm gonna make it to 135 eventually.
Sure thing pal
that's a pretty serious gamble on his part. If you're huge then I guess I'd do the same, but that could easily be fatal
How the fuck did it take you a year? I started at 137lbs BW and 90lb bench, got to 1pl8 in like 2 months doing the stupid SS meme
that is bullshit, nobody no matter their size is going to do 3 pl8 their first time.
>1 year
>1pl8 bench
I was ohp’ing 1 plate 5x5 in 3 months, what the fuck have you been doing for one fucking year?
I mean, it’s still impressive, but it was probably one of those ego lifts where the spotter is rowing 30% of the weight
i just started mid december, my bench is so shit.
240 lbs and can only do sets of 5 with 50lbs
im such a weakling, my back is able to handle more but 1pl8 dead lifts i just cant keep the bar in my hands affter a few sets
>anons constantly bragging bout how fast they got to the general milestones instead of encouraging this guy to do better
You fucks dont even know his circumstances, his height, weight and genetics while you babble your mouth trying to increase your ego
3 weeks for me
Wtf? Are you me?
Good job user!!! I just hit the same mark myself, I'm proud of you.
We’re anonymous, retard. It’s not bragging, it’s pointing out op was being retarded for a year instead of reading the fucking sticky and making the same progress in literally one tenth of the time.
Faggot
Good job breh
Remember, every dude you see benching 2, 3, 4 plates at one point struggled with 1.
As long as you don't get lazy and quit, you will soon be one of them. Schedule days/weeks off for appropriate rest, but never, ever skip a day that you are supposed to lift.
gj, that's very impressive for a high school girl
3 sets for me
First set for me, but I got it on my fifth rep
so when people say 1pl8, how do they count? Just one rep? 5? 5x5? Cause I started working out 2 months ago and I'm not far from doing 1rep of 1 pl8
Probably 1 rep or more
>1 or more
thanks
The journey began the day you decided to step into the gym. This is simply one of many milestones to come on your journey to greatness, friend.
>fucking round with his friends in the highschool gym
Probably 1 inch ROM and 4 spotters "touching" the bar.
I’m at 2.5 pl8 bench and benched 1 pl8 for reps within my first month of lifting at 14 YO. Took forever to break through 2 pl8 though due to inconsistency.
IMAGINE taking ONE FUCKING YEAR to get to LMAO1PL8 BENCH
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
i benched 2pl8x1 first time when i was 14, but was like 240lbs at the time and had done football for a while so wasnt necessarily untrained. Funny because i never really lifted after that and became a fat fuck until 7 years later now when im losing weight and lifting again
1pl8 means 5 sets by 5 reps with one 45lb. plate on either side of a 45lb. bar for a total of 135lbs.
it is just the weight, you cant imply the reps/sets if someone just says 1pl8
This
Don't listen to the naysayers OP, the fact that you're progressing and trying at all means your winning the battle. As a fellow chestlet who started off at 75lbs it's taken me quite a few years of inconsistent training and diet (bc life gets in the way) to get where we're at now. Keep powering forward, don't forget to deload and take well deserved breaks it helps with plateaus
Incorrect. 1/2/3/4 is for 1 rm.
Has to be actually lifted though, not the bullshit online calculators
yes every time you hit a new pr your journey starts over and all your past work no longer happened
you are a petty and loser-mindset dominated excuse for a human being to take the piss out of an accomplishment by "reminding" someone else that genetics are a thing. literally how fucking dare you. post your pathetic, weak, poorly defined body so i can "remind" you of the same. you are a subhuman nigger to try and bring someone else down.
congrats user!
So you're telling me I've been living 25x more than 1/2/3/4 this whole time? That doesn't make sense.
>1/2/3/4 is for 1 rm.
It's for 1x5.
>1/2/3/4 is for 1 rm
Where did this gay ass cope meme come from? It's always been 5 reps.
so one set of five reps?
DL too?
All of the big four
>jay cutler for example benched 315 first time he ever benched fucking round with his friends in the highschool gym
I acknowledge that some people are just naturally stronger than others, but that's a completely made up, bullshit story.
