Spotter General

Suicidefag here
>Never use spotter because lonely add no gym bro
>Roll of shame or weight dump if I'm about to die
>Almost finish a bench left arm wants to quit halfway
>Yell at the little faggot to get it's shit moving
>Actually talking at my arm to lift more in front of God and the gym
>Inch from lockout
>Herofag out of nowhere yanks the bar off my left and I rack it
>Fucking gain thief just cucked my arm
Why do people do this?
Spotting should be reserved for people about to take a barbell to the windpipe
Like most herofags he only threw my balance off and interrupted my bench
I'd rather be dead than be small anyway
>Any similar experiences?

yeah, if someone spots me like a retard, i'm telling them to help me when barbell is getting lower, or stuck in one place for like 2 sec. It works when i'm getting same dude to spot me one more time, but there is no way that the society we live in will learn that by themself.

yes, occasionally see fellow at gym. probably a 4channer, sad looking, soft and fluffy body, terrible around people and crowded gym. Nice enough. Finishing out set need anyone with a pulse, he walks by. pushing out last rep, bar is physically going up, albeit slowly probably had 2 more in me. grabs bar and heaves with force of a thousand sons up to the top rack, have to say I got it I got it. i get one more. Blue ball last bench set, fitizen feels bad. we part ways, hope he at least learned from the experience. Now only ask verified veterans.

It's just an awful experience for both parties
>What if we just wore shirts that said don't touch my fucking weight unless I'm dying

How the fuck did the bar get in between the rack like that..? Am I missing something?

The world is lawless and illogical
Fate decided Juan had lifted too much and must perish
He is waiting in Valhalla for others to die under the barbell

Like 2 months ago I couldn't lock out my one last rep of 200 so I had to set the bar on my chest and basically roll it off my body down my legs. Looked like I got run over by a steamroller for 12 hours afterwards.

If you're lifting that much wouldn't it be safer to weight dump?

I would rather do the roll of shame then having some awkward fag ruining my lift.

Worst people:
Spotting without being ask
keeping his hands under bar at all times/touching the bar
decides himself when he needs to start moving the weight

Only spotter i trust is my friend. He doesnt do anything until i tell him to. Its that easy.

That dirty spotter description gave me negative asmr

I do this with 185-200 on a monthly basis probably. It hurts for like a minute after. You're doing it wrong retard.

That's why your dumbass should have immediately shook your head and said don't

Is it okay to cheat to avoid the roll of shame? Get my ass up off the bench and really push through my legs?

Nothing is quite as annoying as an uneccessary spot from some hero wannabe. If I see a dude legit trapped or in danger, Ill help him out. But if I see a mf is near lockout and someone grabs the bar, omg i get heated

I generally yell at anyone who gets even remotely close to the bar if I know for sure I got it.

>ask guy to spot me during lifts
>Tell him SPECIFICALLY; if you see the bar stop moving and go DOWN, then spot me.
>I go for my PR or my lift and start grinding it out
>Guy starts to grab the bar
>Blurt out a "DON'T TOUCH THE FUCKING BAR I GOT IT"
>Guy stops and jumps back
>Turn around and thank him for trying but to never touch the bar unless you see me die

gains goblins with good intentions?

Spotters are there to cause you pain. Literally me on right.

Didn't see him coming, i was focused on my arm to get it's shit going
Out of nowhere he's there with his hands on that side of the barbell

If it's not going up proper I say fuck form get that shit up but never make a habit of it happening every set
If it's happening consistently, drop weight and stick to form

they say if you chop a skelly in half they regenerate and it makes two

A spotter should only touch the bar if (a) you ask (b) it’s falling or (c) it’s about to crush your neck. Period

Wonder same every time I see this. No good answer.

See Question. What’s the etiquette if I see someone struggling who I think can make it but might need help. Should I go over and say something like “I’m here but you got this.” Or should I just ignore them until SHTF? Personally I’d prefer the former, as long as he doesn’t touch the bar.

Kek I hope this is in reverse? Legs on the bench, he deserved it.

This.

And even then, I want the tiniest bit of help, just enough to get me through the sticking point.

My sides! I haven't LOL'd like this in a while.

>doing seated dumbell shoulder press
>SEATED
>DUMBELL
>SHOULDER PRESS
>within a second of me cleaning the weights, some fucking indian asks me if i need a hand
>blurt out a strained "NO"
>retard indian "saves" me on my 9th rep
>have to restrain myself and not clock him on the fucking spot

Y-you post here too?

Whenever I ask for a spotter, I always explain to them the following

>give me a lift off, but don't go like this *hold my hands under the bar* or anything
>I'll audibly say "get it" if I need you to get it and just rack it. If I'm struggling just let me struggle

I mean I usually say it shorter than that most always works

I'd say just make yourself available and yell encouragement at him.
You either make a new gym bro or horrify somebody

you're good bro just tell them what happened, they won't fire you. gonna take a few months to heal though

funny i always do this to people who ask me for a spotter because its typically gym noobs

"i'm not going to help you unless you ask or break a rib"
"i'm gonna give you a lift off don't fuck it up by not being ready from the second the bar starts moving"
