Alan Roberts and Sam Robbins had an interview about it not too long ago. And Alan didn't seem like he strongly disagreed which honestly surprised me. I really expected him to crush sam with facts, but somehow he even seemed like he agreed with some things. So are somatotypes real or not? What is the answer?

i believe they are. But it's more we've split up very different genetic traits into 3 groups. Interesting thing would be to see how, say genetic twins/clones would differ in adulthood if say, 1 trained only gym and powerlifting and other was sedentary basedboy.

I feel like theyre based in looking at adding things together that are altogether separate. What a lot of people say is that people can change somatotype which is often overlooked. Someone could be a huge chungus of a man with a god tier bone structure but their base metabolic rate is lower but it can also be higher. Metabolic rate isnt really related to your bone structure its mainly genetics. So the parts of somatotypes are all individually true but dont actually correlate when it comes to human genes.

most people imply somatotypes exists without even knowing what the original meaning of them is it's autistic to classify human bodies as 3 "classes", genetic diversity is endless you may be born with non-existant appetite, or just too lazy to eat, so you develop a scrawny frame and thin bones, doesnt make you a "ectomorph", it all boils down to diet and exercise especially in younger years, unless your genetics are absolute dogshit, you can control your body more than you think
