I’m scared to get hurt

I did get hurt by heel hook, but luckily didn't need surgery. Dunno if it's worth it to me anymore.

I wagecuck full time and barely manage to get to the gym 3 times a week. How the fuck would I find time to do mma as well?

>rolling with a blue belt, giving me tips on how to do heel hook since we got in that position during rolling
>he looks at my white belt and says I cant teach you since you are white belt
when will it be my turn for heel hooks

Because you only need to know the basics for practical self defense. Risk of injury is a primary factor, bjj isnt a joke. You either roll for fun and risk injury which to me imo isnt worth the risk or you roll to git good to which its a means to and end, therefore you take the risk.

the idea of white belts trying heel hooks keeps me up at night

You could probably find someone willing to train them with you as long as you don't be a dickhead and crank them.
Just catch the position and hold, give them a chance to escape or tap.
If you want to learn the ins and outs, John Danaher has a really good DVD on it.

is okay to be scared but don't let it stop you, if you don't want to do it that's fine too but don't say that you are scared as an escuse to not do it
as a hobby that you do casually, no injurie is worth it, it shouldn't had happend in the first place, but if its your passion you will find a way around it, even after several more injuries you will still do it and it is worth it
you can get a better job, use your skills to make money off the internet, replace the gym with mma, realize that the day is longer than you think and organizing your day by a schedule will give you as much time as you need to squeeze in an extra activitie, all of the previous ones, like i said if its your passion you will find a way around it, if not then you won't

I dont like punching people or being punched. So i do bjj

Good boi. Bjj is awesome. It’s okay you don’t wanna punch people. Atleast you doing a real combat sport

But I box user

But what about your ground game user? Boxing is great though.

Because I have incessant power fantasies and if I win my boner and lust would be hard to maintain

I can't afford to do anything else

Well atleast you box

Yeah. I enjoy it.

I want to, but there are no good gyms near me and I don't want to go to some Mcdojo and be taught by shitty people. The good gyms like SBG are on the other side of the city and getting there in rush hour will take hours.

I've always wanted to practice boxing but I have a shitty vision, can't see anything without my glasses.

My vision is terrible too and I do okay in Muay Thai. It's easier to keep track of movement than you'd expect even if shit's all blurry. Give it a try.

Because I'm not actually a homosexual, I just pretend to be one here to fit in

Would start but
>bad cardio
>no clubs nearby
Probably gonna work on cardio through spring & summer and search for a nice fighting gym

Used to practice muay thai but switched to bjj in order to make my game more complete. I'm currently around six months in and loving every session. I feel like grappling comes more naturally to me and like how it's so much more technical. Also a bonus that you can go hard during sparring without getting concussions

This is fucking retarded.
If you're EVER showing a technique at full speed by doing it to someone (and you're not an instructor) you're a deadshit.

You can DEF show a white belt heel hooks however you've got to be clear about the incredible damage it can do. The reason white belts aren't taught it to start with is the knee / ankles have so little give and the minute amount you need to move to take a knee from slight pinch to totally blown out. It's ALSO cos white belts typically spaz around and if they jump or move when youve got a knee secured for a lock it'll fuck it even more.

White belts can be shown and any blue belt saying they cant show cos of white belt is doing a dis-service especially if other people will do ankle/heel subs on them.

What's your weekly rotation looking like? I'm feeling a bit over trained and my joints are feeling it.

Currently doing 5/3/1 while doing BJJ 5 days a week and kickboxing 4 days a week.

Thinking I've got to figure out a way to switch it up. Kickboxing class goes straight into BJJ and I'm struggling to keep motivation with some movements (e.g. getting to dogfight when I can just omaplata / chilling in someones side control rather than fighting hard to get back to guard or counter sweep.

Why would I waste time with some mediocre teacher that is probably dyel?

Because he could beat your zeebrah ass without breaking a sweat

I am user. I do BJJ and kickboxing 3x a week in addition to full body workouts 3x a week.

I tried BJJ once but the room got like a fucking sauna, legit couldnt see from end to end. And there was a fat guy I had to roll with and fat people repulse me.
Rolling with the 2 male in shape brown belts was cool because they showed me shit but that was like 1/5th of the time. The rest was fat people and a girl going 100% when I was going 10% because she told me she had a bad knee

girls always go hard or get pissy

I used to compete in muay Thai and trained every day and then got into weightlifting recently, despite squatting over 2 pl8s and benching 1.5 at 60kg I was the weakest of my stock so I got into strength training, would recommend muay Thai to anyone who wants better coordination and conditioning
