why not use the frame itself to do pull ups
or the door itself

You can get a wall pull up bar or a door frame pull up bar, anything works

Back is triggered by pulling yourself up, with pushing, you mostly use your triceps and chest, ala push ups.

doing them on my FAT bar

what do I need to strengthen to do pullups and chinups? I've gone from being able to do no chin-ups to doing a few sets of 3 by doing dead hangs and declines (losing 20 pounds probably helped) but even though i can feel a bit of progress it feels like I'm pretty far away from even being able to do a single pull-up. is there any muscles I can specifically focus on to be able to start just doing the full motion more quickly?
