I don't know, I think it mostly depends on what your body can handle and what it's used to. Also you need to be getting the right nutrients and calories for that much time in the gym to be worth it.

>tldr: it depends

that being said I was just in the gym for 2 hours today and I'm thinking of hitting the gym again tonight

>tfw you will never be that buff Chad bulling that qt

A good workout should be not more than 1 hour. If you are spending more you are not working hard enough.

i spend 10hrs a week and i feel i'm far from overtraining

It depends desu, I have pretty intense workouts last 1 hour and like 45 mins sometimes. It all depends on what I'm doing that day. Never had a workout go over 2 hours though. OP if your workout is going over 2 hours you're probably resting too long or just doing way too much stuff (I don't think it'd hurt you, just be useless and waste your time)

What this guy said. What exactly are you doing that takes 4 hours every day?

One body part a day
Today was core and I’m leaving right now

So you meant to post a twitter tier normalfag meme? Be glad you didn't

>hurr durr one body part a day
>hurr durr today is core
Add some weights to the exercises and if you get fatigued in half an hour that means you are working.

brofessor here, this user is 100% correct, also don't forget to drink at least 6L of water minimum otherwise, your kidneys will explode.

>t. DYELs

It takes a minimum of 30 minutes for me to warm up for oly lifts, and that is if I do a really shitty warmup. Not including loaded lifts and then some bodybuilding accesories at the end. Some of us do more than some reddit tier routine of bicep curls and cable rows. Also if you really trained hard you would know you need more than 1-3 minutes broscience says to recover between heavy compound sets. But you wouldn't know that, now would you?

Jeff says you shouldn't be spending more than an hour in the gym

let's see your body, manlet

Okay listen up OP:

Overtraining could be in two different forms:
1. Accumulated fatigue over a period of time that reaches a certain threshold where your body just can't cope anymore
2. Chronically overworking muscles, not allowing enough recovery time between training sessions for the aforementioned muscles
..or, a combination of the two.

The amount of energy your body has available to it is literally like a battery: it holds a finite charge, and things like sleep especially, but also food, are what recharge that battery. Occasionally you can run that charge very low with no long-lasting effects, but if you *chronically* run your battery down very low over the course of consecutive months, then you can go into Overtraining Syndrome.

The likelihood of the average Jow Forumsizen working themselves so hard for so long that they experience Overtraining Syndrome is very low, since most of you do minimal to no aerobic endurance training of any kind.

Overtraining Syndrome is more likely amongst endurance-sports athletes, who expend vast amounts of energy during training, especially during the more advanced phases of training. They have to be careful about how their training schedules are written so there's enough recovery time built into it so Overtraining doesn't happen. Even then it can happen to them.

But just gym strength training types typically only run a very small risk of lapsing into Overtraining Syndrome.

Make sense?

>tfw you'll never choke out a manlet shota who's so goddamn masochistic he gets off on it.

Ahem

For the second form of overtraining, what's the absolute minimum you can wait between training a muscle group to avoid it?

Samefagging your own post

Just take a day between for the same muscle group(s). If you alternate groups then you can train everyday, but not the same muscle groups on consecutive days.

>choke
>manlet shota
>masochistic
>gets off on it
god i wish that was me

if you get enough sleep overtraining should not be a factor

It is mostly not a concern for non professionals, I train for about 1-1,5h a day but I do overlap muscle groups, if you get good sleep(not just 8hrs it has to be good quality to) get enough protein to fix the damage and carbs to fill up your stores you will be fine, I also take one to two full rest days a week depending on how I feel. Listen to your body and you will be fine.

Shotas shouldn't be on Jow Forums unless they want to run and keep themselves thin. Bulking and muscle is for men.

tfw no bully bf who likes femboys

Largely depends
Are you natty and do you have other commitments?
If you answered yes to either of these then I'd say yes it's bad because the excess cortisol will trash your gains, especially if you fell for the natty meme

Natties have to keep their hormonal profile within certain parameters, these limits don't apply to roiders because the juice ramps up protein synthesis and suppresses cortisol

I want a good belly with abs
that's why I'm here
also fph

>Overtraining
no such thing
in the long run you're just burning more calories per workout if it's intensive
I spend around 2hrs at the gym, 35min
cardio
, 1hr 30min upper or lower body, 25min~ rest rehydration waiting for others to finish etc

do what you gotta do, if it takes 4hrs to achieve the results you want then put in those 4hrs

Don't forget lower body stuff to make your ass more lifted and slammable.

fuck, meant to say about 2hrs of workout, doesn't add up
so embarrassing, hope nobody bulli's me for my horrible math skills

of course
squats on the daily

>Cumdump boy can't do math.
You don't have to be smart to suck a dick, take loads, and keep yourself pretty luckily.

I spend an hour tops everyday and look more jacked the gymbros who spend hours at the gym.
I could do more each day but I only feel like one session a day.
The body doesnt really react to hour and hours of weightlifting.

Yeah my weightlifting workouts are typically 2 hours long
Maybe even longer if I need to warm up more

Some lighter days are 1,5h

>Also if you really trained hard you would know you need more than 1-3 minutes broscience says to recover between heavy compound sets.

Sauce pls

that ain't me
but I wanna do that anyways thanks

Are you the jewish dude on int

I spend about an hour and a half a day at the gym, natty. I recover fine if i sleep enough and dont drink, which is tough but i can do at least 4 days a week.

I switched from 3x a week full body to ppl and ive never looked juicier. Ppl is the goat routine if you have lifted for 1 month+

You would know this was true if you lifted any heavy compounds you DYEL

who

You are literally posting his same exact images

Arnold did 5 hours a day and worked construction when he was winning Mr Universe titles.
W
He was on roids though.
Wtf do you need 4 hours at the gym for?

Are you lifting or fighting or what?

Also wtf. Please stop posting borderline gay porn on Jow Forums.

i repost images from my folder sorted by date here's (hopefully) an original one

Fit is for gay porn.

Just browse /cm/ or /y/.

No
Yep that's a new one

Attached: 20190326_093846.png (500x628, 367K)

I completely forgot that existed. I wonder how many people on /cm/ larp as traps.

So many understatements in this post. Arnold was on massive amounts of gear. He was eating like crazy and he only worked in bricklaying for 1-2 years with Franco and other fellow bodybuilders then he made enough money to make a business out of it employing other people to do the manual labor for him instead. He was a millionaire before his 30s and he arrived in Venice Beach in his early 20s so you do the math. Basically he lived like a rich neet in the 70s having the whole day available to bodybuild

Idk why not migrate there.
Seriously wtf? Why are you posting that shit here?
Just because you want to burn in hell forever doesn't mean I do.

I don't see anybody claim to be a trap on cm, ironically
its all on int or fit

The main point of the presentation is in some circumstances, people can train more time and harder tgan Op is asking about but Op is probably not close to that level.

not in the sense you're thinking
You can workout until you can't even pick up a 20 lb dumbell but as long as you're getting adequate rest and caloric intake you're fine. If you repeatedly damage the same muscles day after day without rest that's overtraining and will murder your gains. As a side note training more than nessisary won't really return as much growth relative to effort like diminishing returns. So if you're putting in more than 20 sets per muscle group per week you won't really see faster or more gains compared to the guy that does full body 3x8-12 or 5x5 everyother day

But why would traps be on int? Maybe the thread IDs for attention?

Attached: what.jpg (400x323, 42K)

I only do full body workouts, usually 2h . I have a snack during the workout, and allways prioritize upper body. Legs and core for last, because I'd rather slack off in that department. T. Can do 2pl8 pullups x5

Depends on what your lvl is, your weights, what you do etc. Arnold was in the gym 5+hours. Also, if u go to gym 3x or 6x a week.

what are you doing that takes 2 hours? I would also reccomend putting the leg stuff at the beginning because it requires the most concentration and glycogen also gets that body temp and heart rate up faster so you can get some cardio benefits from lifting if your rests aren't too long.

be my gf (male)

Over training is benching 2 days in a row

It's all fun and games until you get rhabdomyolysis, according to manlet rogan crossfitters are prone to it.

Attached: rhabdo.png (606x800, 197K)

i go hard on my electric bike 30 mins a day, 5 days a week and i rest for 2 days then i have more strength than last week.

I just do pistol squats and sometimes regular squats/deadlift
I really don't like the look of thick ass/legs

J Y V Ä S K Y L Ä

This thread is fucking gay.

STOP MAKING ME GAY

Eat and sleep enough u should be fine

> 5 x 5
> 3 minute rests

Don't see why this is so shocking

Good shit. Im going to overtrain myself so i can die from lifitng. Fuck this existence.

>first year of lifting

Enjoy the noob gains for now, and lets discuss this in a couple years

Nobody rests more than two minutes, do they?

As always

Agree -- I overtrained by #2. My upper traps were twitching. I have kundalini syndrome and have had since my teens. Thus, I could if I chose go to the gym 7 days a week. But ----
I meditate - have way to much energy at times. It's in the breath, bros. Also, ended up in ER from having twitching upper traps: pullups like a nazi; roll-ups in a fitness class 25lbs; and pullups from floor on TRX till exhausition, go at it again. Took 9 weeks off, with pt. Ended up with Hindu monk doing deep meditation. Said, need to be careful the rest of life. Agree. Could screw all night, crazy energy. People absolutely need time to re-charge and sleep. Peace
