good rule of thumb but it will not hurt when you get 10-20g more then you need, especially for the beginner gainz time. just don't go retarded high with your protein intake and kill your liver, use commonsense.

Just do heavy compound movements, throw in some supersets, and some jump rope/HIIT cardio. Follow a program and track your results and increase weight as soon as you hit your prescribed reps/sets for each workout

Programs are just to give you structure and make your strength/muscle gains efficient. You can lose weight through diet alone.
