Atlas stone?

Is the atlas stone as legitimate of a workout as people make it out to be? Does anyone have any experience with them? And what weight should I start out with?

do you have access to one?
honestly, if you cant 0.5/1/2/3/4 then you shouldnt be lifting atlas stones
>bicep tears
>need to know how to brace
>lower back injury

you could do the same movement with zercher deadlifts, if you dont have access to stones

but i would go for 0.5/1/2/3/4 for reps before doing atlas stones

My brain is only made to lift big things what does .5/1/2/3/4 mean?

What the fuck is 0.5?

what's the 0.5 for

>0.5
Is that half of body weight or half of max?

Holy fuck it's plate based ya roobs .5 means half of 1 plate on a barbell so half of 135

What fucking lift?
See also: 0.5plate is not half of 135 its 45+2*22.5 which is 90 pounds you double retarded gay mongoid

No fite!
Make Grug mad
Grug only want to learn
Become better Grug So Grug get bigger!

Are you retarded? A barbell is 45 + the 45lb plates 45(2)=135 or what he's saying 45 + 2*22.5 the lifts are supposed to be OHP, bench, squat, deadlift for sets across, and it's supposed to be 1/2/3/4 not what he posted but it may be due to him saying that is your minimum weight before thinking of doing atlas stones, so it's 1plt Ohp, 2plt bench, 3plt squat, and 4plt deadlift respectively.

NVM YOU'RE RIGHT I AM RETARDED BUT THE REST IS CORRECT.

>pick up heavy thing
>put it back down
gee i dont know user. I think weightlifting only works if its an olympic bar and otherwise your body just doesnt grow

Using a barbell is for weakings with no mass in their forearms

Ok bud deadlift 405 using two 202.5lb dumbbells.

I was joking at first but shit that actually sounds like a good idea to try!

>Is it legitimate
That depends entirely on what you consider to be legitimate, but they will make you stronger
>Does anyone have experience
Yeah I train with them once a week usually for the past year or so
>What weight should I start at
The heaviest one you can pick up and load to your shoulder is a good place to start. They're a super technical event dso it will behoove you to get the technique nailed down before you start going balls out

Ok cool dude! I’ll look into it! By the way what strength level should I be at when I start lifting them?

Any level, it doesn't matter.
Like any new lift: be cautious, learn to do it correctly, don't jump into max effort right away and listen to your body if it tells you something isn't right. That said, there's no reason you can't start doing them on day 1, and if you're interested in competing at some point you want to start building experience as soon as possible.

I know you were trying to be flippant but..some of these people believe this.
Real talk.

So did we ever figure out what the fuck lift is supposed to be .5?

It means half a bunny

Its a fun lift to train with other strongman stuff to change up from normal lifting. Since doing these with strongman and grip training, I feel more capable and like I can apply my strength better in general

got the right idea, practice light til its under your belt

Pic related is my first stone I made a few months ago. Weighed in at 165, could shoulder it as soon as I learned how to properly lift a stone. Doing a comp soon with 200 load for reps, so its gonna be a step up from the one I got
