How do I stop anxiety destroying my gains? It takes me hours to get asleep, so I'm getting like 6-7 hours of sleep at max.

The anxiety epidemic today is astonishing.
Looking back at why I got so anxious about things is really astonishing and bewildering.
My anxiety went through the roof with just the thought of walking to my college classes, sitting in my college classes, the idea of talking to people, buying things at the cash register, etc. I went some serious bouts of depression. Pretty much all of my anxiety, anger, sadness is gone though. This is all unwarranted, but I'm just trying to relate to you and everyone else with anxiety.

Anxiety and all these other feelings and emotions are all mental and not a part of YOU. I started dabbling in psychedelics thinking it would somehow magically cure my problems - it didnt. But, it sure did fucking help a lot. It put a lot of things in a bigger perspective for me, and me majoring in philosophy also helped shape the kind of ideas I would soon shape.

It forced me to confront my problems instead of hiding behind porn, games, youtube, etc. It forced me to realize that nothing is going to change, if I dont actually fucking do something about it. And yeah, its common sense to say that, but a lot of people know this "common sense" but dont REALLY understand it, dont REALLY believe it - and they go about doing the same things over and over again.

If you arent up for taking psychedelics, I would recommend meditation. Also, do some wim hoff before you sleep - its always helped me.

Reading the book 'The effortless sleep method' has helped me. The author basically was an insomniac for > a decade and tried everything, then finally fixed her sleep and wrote a book on how to do it.
Its only 100ish pages, really light read as well.

Make a sleeping schedule. Get up at the same time each day, no matter how much sleep you got. See if that helps.

Figure out what causes your anxiety and address it.

What does it mean doing "wim hof"?

The wim hoff breathign method. It gives your body a natural high. If you do enough rounds, you can start to feel your body vibrate and fully relax and your mind tends to center itself in the here and now, instead of thinking of the past and future. At least, this is what I've experienced. I hope you try it.

I sleep like 11 hours a day and sometimes still need to nap for a bit. I have like the opposite problem.

i think im missing some minerals, ive ruled out all vitamins so far

Depression isnt just caused by a lack of vitamins and minerals. Vitamin D and exercise are not a cure all for depression. Regardless of what you do your body might just be incapable of producing the right neurochemicals in the right amounts, leading to depression

Way too high. The famous MIT study showed the effective dose is 0.3 mg.

Why not? It's a real possibility he needs to consider. It's not the end of the world, see a doctor and get medicated.

No amount of attitude and thinking will change the fact that your brain is incapable of producing dopamine and serotonin in the proper levels. Other wise "Just dont be sad :)))" would work

Weed does help people sleep HOWEVER it'll affect your REM sleep, so it's not that good. I'd advise a good old glass of milk and a book
