Going to the gym when short on sleep?

Do you do it? I slept too little last night and I'm just skipping the gym today (I'll go tomorrow). The last time I worked out when I knew I was short on sleep, the workout was an embarrassment.

I once went and hit chest with 2 hours of sleep + a full morning of work. I did bench the same weight as always, but i felt like shit afterwards

That being said, just go. Yeah, your workout will probably be less than optimal, but sub-optimal is superior to zero workout. I’ve done it too many times to count, because I suck at sleeping. Just sleep better tonight and do better tomorrow

idk i've been in the same boat a fair few times recently since i've been sleeping like shit since moving to a different place- i usually still go but it's pretty much always suboptimal

Kee the workout really light if you really do to want to miss the day. Working out when low on sleep has resulted in the worst workouts of my life. I have had better results when I’m starving but there’s no way around sleep deprivation

You shouldn’t skip a workout unless you have a fever or the flu or some shit. Sleep deprivation from only one night should not slow you down. I can miss sleep one night altogether and still perform at like 80% the next day as long as I slept good the previous night.
