man i really want to into olymping lifting some day. it has to be the most based form of lifting... seems like its actually pretty dangerous and requires true athletic ability and practice to do correctly... probably the only form of lifting I would actually consider a sport. what's the best resources for a beginner?

I watched alot of catalyst athletics videos, lurked this general a bunch, and watched videos from other lifters like klokov, torokhtiy, max aita, even learned something from zack telander (unironically). Also a ton of practice with light weights.
Spend time watching alot of videos about form and techniques, but also watch videos or people actually training too. That is, if you dont plan on getting a coach or going to a dedicated weightlifting gym that has experienced people there to help you out.

Been building a decent strength base lately and wanna do oly lifting - took a semester long class at school a year ago where we did nothing but learn form so im not gonna hurt myself doing shit on my own. Is it too much to ask to find a place where I can lift on my own without gay fucking classes? Live in a NYC suburb and nothing but crossfit boxes, soulcycle clones, and my shitty YMCA. What do? Not sure if the crossfit places even have open gym but they want an absurd amount of money to "learn" how to do basic shit so idk if thats gonna work.
Ask around, my gym is fucking cool, just have to draw with the occasional shot head.

Went 71, 74, 77 in snatch. BW 82. So yeah nothing major. I've never hit more than 70 in comp before though so it feels good to see all the technique drills yielding results.
Managed 98 in C&J. Missed 100 twice. I've done as much as 105 but nevef in comp and the last time I C&J'ed 100 in comp was in september. Earlier last week I did a 95 double so I was expecting AT LEAST 100 desu.
