The only reason they invented S.P.E.C.I.A.L. was because they couldn't use D&D stats.

Endurance is roughly analogous to DnD's constitution stat, and luck is unique in that it's the thing you roll once at birth and it sticks forever.

>reading books (philosophy, spiritualism, ideologies, ...)
Yeah, that's not what wisdom is.

You're right. 5E Paladins can be of any alignment. This takes me back to my Dwarf Paladin in WoW.

I assume it's based on the family and society stuff? Dwarves are very loyal to family and their people.

I thought I was, but I guess not. Damn, missed out on the best race.

5E got a lot of things right, not sure that I feel this is one of them though.

>5E got a lot of things right, not sure that I feel this is one of them though.

Yeah, I'm okay with non-Lawful Paladins but they should ALWAYS be Good.

I feel differently on the Lawful bit, but fuck evil Paladins.
You've got your choice of Blackguards and Anti-Paladins if you want to be an evil Paladin.
At least it helped mitigate the
>Lol, you fell!
Shit.

Attached: 1534565285251.png (1077x1035, 677K)

I agree that Lawful Good is the best alignment for them but I also feel that the Good part is more important. I don't know why they made this change. Just make a Fighter/Divine Champion if you want to be the holy warrior of a non-Good god.

Fuck yeah, more Paladins. Jow Forums's posters are by definition the best.

100% agree. Fighters are supposed to be a catch-all class to fluff however you want. Paladins are a distinct idea, and a very easy idea to grasp at that.

Not the greatest guide, but hard to fuck up. I've found the main issues seem to stem from Players playing other classes, and then thinking their Paladin can be a greedy, backstabbing, politiking murderhobo too.

Attached: 1534060942877.png (1189x918, 767K)

That too but I think the Lawful bit and their code is what trips them up. Some people don't understand they can't drink and fuck wenches as a Paladin.

>non-Lawful "paladins"

uhhh, no sweetie. the entire point of the paladin is that he's a zealous fanatic crusader against evil and undeath who gets his powers from an unwavering faith in his god

they should rightfully lose their powers when they stray.

Arguably it depends on their code, but I would certainly agree about drunkenness, debauchery and fornication being off the table as acceptable non-adventuring activities to partake in.
Why play a Paladin if you're not going to play a Righteous Holy Crusader? I mean at least pick Cleric, they're even fucking mechanically better.

Unironically agree with nearly all of this, but would insist on adding the word

They can be that without being Lawful as long as they're Good.

I missed my chance to obtain fearsome wizard powers - I had sex the first time when I was 21. Can I still obtain some type of magic by reading books or learning things ??? I min maxed str and dex - 0 charisma

STR 17 on a wizard I think counts as a muscle wizard - I don't actually play d&d though I know some of the rules. Also why is my CON so low cmon

Fuck yeah, Sorceror. 17's plenty, Muscle Wizard's are based on the DnD 3.5 edition's ridiculous bending and twisting of rules to get dumb things to work:
>Play Human
>Get Bonus Feat (non-magical bonus) as your Race's 'gift' (instead of, say, super hearing or night vision)
>Pick feat that lets you swap a Class's needed stat for another stat (for example, If your Class needs Str, Int and Wis to hit good, spell good and talk good, you can swap Int for Str and thus only need to improve Str and Wis to get the benefits of improving Str, Int and Wis)
>Swap Int for Str
>Instead of needing to pump Int for Spell Power, you can just pump Str and punch your spells out

13 Con's pretty good actually; 10 is considered being 'average' for Adventurers, 8 is 'average' for Peasants.

Adventurers will have stats higher than 10, but 10 is a beginning Disney Hero's non-specualty features, whilst 18 is Gaston's level of Ability.

Fucking nerds

It's the same in all the games

Based and lucky #7 dubs...pilled.

These are all variables that can be developed (INT isn't merely IQ, it is also intellect and learning), but yes there is a baseline due to genetics.

Best creation system would be roll for baseline following a normal distribution. Then you add points based on life experience prior to adventuring and given the starting level. Then the system just has to avoid power creep in opposition to the baseline (meaning that stat increases are so frequent that the baseline hardly matters). The acquisition of skills should be governed by the baseline INT of one's character..
