Pushups don't harm your body but they don't benefit it in anyway. Only thing that will increase is the amount of push ups you can do, not your muscle mass, not your stamina, not your density, not your arm mass not anything.

Let's just say that as someone who never does push ups and barely does any pull ups. I btfo one calisthenics guy from my uni who at least according to him does calisthenics for 4 years and weights 20kg less than me. Bench press and rows are superior in every way.

In the army I could do a set of 300 pushups. You’ll get more size doing bench. It gets you a little cut.
