Because the left has really fucking dropped the ball when it comes to dealing with straight men and basically left wing rhetoric, outright demonises male sexuality and mocks men for feeling loneliness, all while cynically talking about "Toxic Masculinity" which is a real thing, but the left doesn't really care about it in terms of how it effects men in terms of male suicide, men being bullied by their peers, how unfair the relationship gender relations are to non-masculine men. They care about it in how it affects domestic violence against women. I've been part of leftist organisations for literally 15 years and 90% of feminist-left wing women still want a masculine aggressive sexist "chad", they just want chad without the risk of being murdered by a roided up psychopath.
So why in fuck would alienated, lonely young men join a movement that openly mocks and demonises them? When the right, which loves sexism, has an entire narrative about how this is all feminisms problem and women should be back in the kitchen etc etc. Young men are going to join the side that accepts them.

There are good progressive mens rights and male issue movements like MensLib or Foreveralone, but they're extremely fringe compared to Incel, Redpill and are treated with extreme suspicion in the left itself.

Says me who has been part of leftist organisations (Salt, SA) since I was a teenager. The left pretends it cares about Machismo in ways that effects men, but if you look at the overall framing, it's really just done as a way to get men to stop basically engaging in domestic violence against women. I'm not kidding when I say that pretty much all leftist women I've ever known including ones that identified as feminist first and foremost, were all hot for extremely masculine chads and pretty much all ended up with chads (often right wing ones) while claiming at the same time that "Toxic masculinity hurts non masculine men the most!" which it does, but when talk comes to walk, pretty much every single leftist girl, ended up with a ultra-masculine chad.
I've literally watched male comrades break down from their mental health issues crying in front of female comrades and the look of pity and disgust and the feigning they cared at all will always stick with me, again from the exact same people who would say "men should show emotions, toxic masculinity stops men from sharing them!" which again is true, but then, they reward that machismo bullshit and are secretly attracted to it.
I would say 90% of Feminists and Leftists when they claim they care about male issues, are just purely deflecting virtue signalling. Again we do have movements within the left that do seriously deal with male issues like Menslib, but Menslib movement again is treated very suspiciously among the rest of the left for no real fucking reason aside from the fact male sexuality and mens issues are demonised in left wing spaces.

Yes they believe it, but like all humans have been conditioned since a young age to find certain aspects in men sexy. If the media started presented skinnyfat men as sexy, guess what, you would have a generation of young women over time that found skinnyfat men as sexy.

It was working well in the US if you consider a system of constant class warfare with an exploited underclass to be a good thing. The 50s economic miracle (that still excluded a large chunk of the nation that was meant to be a permanent underclass) was a one-off that nobody will be able to re-engineer via policy. And in the end, all that was accomplished was the creation of a middle class that is easily being unwound.
Yeah, feminists seem to try and forget that their movement has its roots in the temperance movement, not the suffrage movement. They never really seem to get that men were and are prone to those issues because of how they're exploited and abused by their employer. Now that there are more women than men in the workforce, they're facing the exact same issues (rising alcoholism, depression, woman-on-man DV, etc) and wondering why this could be. They come annoyingly close in pinpointing that it's a systemic issue, but casting the nature of that system as being male and blaming that simply manages to create another divide that is exploited by those who benefit from continual class war.
