Content like "Top 10 most disturbing Jow Forums posts" on Youtube that have millions of views; news stories that name Jow Forums in hacks or murderous events; the fact that Jow Forums has no social media integration and websites are not eager to link or associate with this place; and an unfamiliar 'archaic' website layout. All of these perpetuate the idea that Jow Forums is part of the "dark web", full of killers that will come for you if you piss them off.
This fear of Jow Forums started probably 12 years ago due to certain events and it's interesting to see it is so long-lasting. We're better off for this though, it keeps easily frightened neurotypicals away.
