To do it right, it's a very extreme diet that you should really be taking blood tests to track if you are in ketosis or not.

Everyone I know who has had success on keto has gained it all back and more, don't think you'll be the exception. Do a diet that is sustainable and actually teaches you how to eat properly, instead of eating whatever as long as its under 20-30 carbs.

I was gonna try it, but then I realized how much carbs are in fruits and vegetables and that I would pretty much only have to eat dairy and meat. Not that I don't fucking LOVE dairy and meat, but that's just fucking stupidly limited. I can give up candy/protein bars/deserts but if I can't eat a fucking bell pepper and some broccoli then fuck that shit.

It's incredibly hard to get your body to kick off that process and stay there.

Carnivore diet, however, is way better at building muscle and improving overall performance; you won't be excreting ketones in your pee though, so some people don't consider it keto (though it's, but just more efficient)

My best cut has been with a strict keto diet for 5 weeks and I never regained what I lost, but it left me really exhausted and I had appendicitis about 1 month later (maybe coincidence, idk, but appendicitis at age 25 is rare)

Too much fats and too little protein will get you that way, bc your body would be overdoing catabolism (and that's how you lose weight)
If you add more meat and eggs to it though, it becomes absolute best for building muscle (and losing some fat on the side)

I always attributed the exhaustion to the onset of the appendicitis + probable dehydration (became lazy with drinking water all day long during the last week), but thanks for the insight, I'll keep that in mind for the next cut
