I’m an Infantryman in the Army, AMA
Army AMA
What's it like waking up with your buddy's cock in your mouth "just as a prank bro"
How many times did that happen before you started questioning why you were enjoying it?
Faggot
Good Goy! Go die for Israel! :D
How does cock taste?
thank you for your service. Israel wouldn't be safe without you
What's your opinion on the air force?
Hows the rucks? I'm in marine rotc and the last one we did was hell for me. I was jogging the whole time
have you been briefed on venezuela?
How do you call this form of running?
whats it like knowing that all the fun shit happened back in my boomer infantryman days?
04-05, 07-08
I used to be a boy but now I'm not so sure
Great cardio, I’ve heard they have a higher PT standard. Everyone loves to play the “Chair Force” meme, but some friends of mine have pretty great PT schedules, the only downside is it being strictly roadwork-centric. Lots and lots of running, not much room for working on upper body strength
Just what are Israels standards to get in these days, soldier?
>inB4 must be goyim
Why is your PT always ass? Literally when we run by you guys you’re doing pushups and crunches. Maybe a 1/2 mile jog.
Depending on your load, the rucks can either be a dream or a nightmare. I was weapons squad in my unit for a short while, carrying the regular packing list, 40lbs of ammo and a 10lb tripod. Not fun.
As long as you’re in the front and not taking most of the slinky effect, the rucks should be cake. We went at a pretty fast pace, averaging about a mile every 15 minutes, and it was pretty nice. My best advice is to zone out and let your mind wander while you go. Oh, and speaking from experience, I never had much of an issue with blisters because my feet are naturally hardened. The boot makes the ruck, so don’t be afraid to dish out for some nicer end boots. The issued ones tore my shit up, but a nice pair of Nikes makes road marches a dream.
Do you mean Vietnam 2: Electric Boogaloo? Me and my friends are hoping for something similar to the invasion in Fallujah, considering that’s all the old dogs ever talk about. We’re keeping our fingers crossed.
Women don’t count in the Army, they just get participation medals.
>the invasion makes me cream
I wish I had the opportunity for something like that, although IEDs don’t sound too fun.
If you want to get the most out of your PT you gotta put in more to get more out, that’s why you see guys show up for morning formation, bullshit their way through PRT and head straight back to the barracks to drool in front of their Xbox all day. The bare minimum is a pretty low standard, after all
>higher PT standard
This is objectively not true, the APFT is harder to max. But yeah AF has a decent PT standard, it's pretty tough to max the run, and it's 50% of our fitness assessment scoring.
>Hail o, hail o engineers
>Queen of battle, have no fear
>we do everything you infantry guys do
I wanted to join a branch, almost went marines and blackout out then got a big forearm tat that out of regs. I can always go army. Would it be worth doing in 2-4 years when I’m 27 if I have no family or anything to lose? I’d only wanna do it to push myself desu and I’d be coming from an emt possibly paramedic job depending on how the future goes, although I’d rather be infantry than medic. Ideally I get to shoot brown people
Ask Jow Forums. And no, you more than likely won’t kill anyone. We’re in pEaCeTiMe.
How’s it feel being a leg. Unit?
Peacetime is the best time to join the military, gives you time to get in some decent training so you're not just cannon fodder, but actually useful
If you’re looking for the chance to kill, infantry is your best bet. Shit, you could always shoot for Ranger if you’d like! But, it is “peacetime” so you’re mostly going to be doing patrols and boring details, not actively going after any enemy. That being said, you’d be surprised at how easy it easy to earn your CIB...
I don’t mind it, personally. I think for practicality it’s dumb, because the modern battlefield doesn’t really see any use for infantry. Infantry’s more useful for actual wars, not shooting at sand niggers in the desert.
I guess I’ll wait until there’s a war and join up depending on where I am in life
How long do you plan to stay in for?
Why did you choose infantry and not another MOS?
How tough was the transition going into the Military?
Do you have a gf? If so how are the both of you dealing with the military lifestyle?
>If you’re looking for the chance to kill, infantry is your best bet.
absolutely based
Should just stop at
>we do everything
60% boi. It fucking though, can’t wait till they revamp it. I’m sick of only doing fucking cardio
>be 11B
>go to afghanistan
>GA
Either go SF or Ranger, I seriously fucked up, this shit is mad gay
I have a 4 year contract as of right now, and I’m planning on just doing 4 and getting out. But, I’ll probably get suckered into re-enlisting.
I chose infantry because a buddy of mine was in infantry, and I knew if I was going to go into the service I wanted the full experience. I also knew it was the most physically demanding, or at least one of the top physically demanding MOS.
The transition was really tough for me, especially the disconnect from the phone. You don’t realize how fucking handy that thing is until you’re stuck in the field wondering how the fuck to shoot an azimuth, or when you’re writing letters without auto correct lol. Discipline wise, it was fairly easy, I was raised to respect people above me and take orders, but the Army Fuck Fuck games really get to me. I’m a logician, so when I’m given pointless, meaningless tasks to entertain people and piss away time, it gets on my nerves. I’ve learned how to bite my tongue VERY well.
I had a gf, funnily enough that’s why I enlisted. She dumped me, I was too depressed to go to college, flunked out, and figured the loans wouldn’t pay themselves back. Infantry also came with a very nice bonus, helped cover that.
I actually had Option 40 but I decided to drop it and be a regular leg. As of now, I don’t regret the choice at all, although I would love to be airborne. Ranger is a bit too high speed for me, at least this early in my career. Coming fresh out of basic and being expected to perform at that level is near impossible, especially for someone coming from modest civilian background.
Maybe down the line I’ll reconsider, but as of now I’m fine with not being an airborne ranger.
dont go emt/paramedic route
work as an emt but use your GI bill to become a physicians assistant
Navy Second Class Petty Officer AMA
btw OP sorry about your ASVAB score
AROTC 2nd lt fag ama
How much money did you make for whatever amount of time you've done?
>Discipline wise, it was fairly easy, I was raised to respect people above me and take orders, but the Army Fuck Fuck games really get to me. Can you elaborate on that? I've been thinking on joining the military because I have a shiton of student loans aswell, but my main fear is I end up strangling a superior officer because he's ordering me to do stupid shit.
How hard was it for you to adjust physically? where you already fit?
Air force is for pussy manlet that wouldn't last one fucking day in the U.S. Marines... *salutes*
If you actually want to do anything other than pick up cigarette butts and paint rocks for 4 years, be thankful you didn't go Marines. Don't go infantry either. Either enlist as an 18X and go to SFAS to try out for SF, or (and this is the better option in my opinion, particularly if you want to be infantry) go Option 40 and go to RASP to try out for the 75th. SOF are the only ones seeing any combat nowadays.
la de da youre a dime a dozen and there are more military on this board than you'd guess.
What is the food situation like in the army? Is the food in the mess hall any good and is it healthy or bad, nutrition wise? Are you allowed to eat there whenever you’re on your own time?
Why would I ask you specifically I can go in to any used Camaro dealer and find 10 other dudes from the army
air force is for people who can score >45 on the asvab
It’s also a good time to play fuck fuck games and clean the toilets for hours every day.
Would you have joined without the benefits?
Im considering enlisting/commissioning on my home military for the lifestyle/training but the benefits arent that good, it would be a step down fron my current job, and my gf would probably leave me.
Why are people in this thread bashing user? If it weren't for people like him there would be a draft and we might have to do this bullshit.
Probably a dumb question to ask here, but what's a good job if you're interested in becoming an electrical engineer? I'm leaning towards the chair force because of "muh technologies", but I'm open to anything really.
Also how are relationships like in the military? Does moving around a lot add stress or cheat paranoia? Are military girls really slutty?
Air Force NCO here ask me your stupid questions.
Fuck you and fuck the military. Enjoy dying for Israel, fuckface.
It's either him or you, retard. Feel like fleeing to Canada or Mexico?
CE in the seabees.
Hi, sar'nt. Army fag here. Why is everyone in your branch hot? An army 9 is an air force 5, women AND men.
>It's either him or you
How's that? Who exactly is invading mainland America to come kill me, huh?
Nobody, but are you so sure that they wouldn't draft you for their imperialist wars if very smart fellows like OP didn't willingly sign up for the job? Stop discouraging them. At least for 4 or 5 more years. You might get me drafted.
Based
There's "jobs" in every branch which will give you related experience, dude. The Marines, Navy, and Air Force all have intermediate and line level maintenance for comm/radar/navigational equipment.
You still need a degree though, use the job to get experience and certs (check USMAP).
Do you think it's possible for a 27 year old boomer to join the military? Do you thin it's a bad idea? Also how many pushups could you do when you first went to basic.
t. fat failure thinking of enlisting
How much free time do you have? I hear some of you guys are basically slaves, like the mechanics work 15 hour days despite being salaried below min wage.
why does it take so fucking long to hear from a recruiter?
I knew two 28 year olds in MOS school (Marines), but you need to get your shit together beforehand or you'll just want to kys. I joined at 24 but was already extremely active (landscaping, construction) so just had to get better at running (did 15 pullups my first time at the recruiter's station). tl;dr get Jow Forums first instead of wanting the military to do it for you.
A lot of air wing people do 12 on/12 off, it sucks.
Navy Officer here to answer questions about the easy life
how do you get the crayons to the marines, literally what is the pipeline and ops
when/where did you get your CIB?
Because the air Force has a lot of people trying to join, so recruiters can be picky.
Because we have garbage personalitys.
usmap is a joke fuck off
Also a Navy Officer but don't ask me anything I won't tell.
The Marine supply sergeants handle that, we only supply them a place to sleep and work out while they're on board.
Doing shore duty in California. Its cushy sure. But its mind numbing and i just want to fucking hang myself.
What is your weekly PT like? MOS?
cringe and boot pilled
Found the jealous Navy fag
>Coming fresh out of basic and being expected to perform at that level is near impossible, especially for someone coming from modest civilian background
I joined right out of high school and went into MI, but a classmate went in at the same time as 11B with ranger and jump schools in his contract. He made it through without any problems and he was something of a scrawny slacker.
He ended up going career. I wish I had, too. I did my five years and got out. Civilians are so full of bullshit.
