I'm 5'9, gone from 185 to 170 lbs in two months. At what point should I start seeing abs?

I've been doing powerlifting for about a month now, and my trainer just straight up told me to not focus on anything health related (such as what I eat, doing cardio etc.). He is more focused on getting bigger numbers in competition than actually living a healthy life.

This made me consider firing him and just doing my own thing, because fuck that noise. I want to live a healthy life now and until the day I die - not just to get some retarded numbers in a competition.

pile of fatty meat, like pork shoulder cut, baked on pan, and fries from Airfryer (minimizing that oil)

Or assload of pork liver, baked in pot with onions on loads of butter, with side of potato puree with again assload of butter and heavy cream

To be honest, I've been lifting for quite a long time. I'd say probably 6 years, the last 3 of those focusing on strength specifically. With powerlifting you can make huge gains in a short time but once you reach a certain level, especially as a natty, the pbs will start to come really slow. Adding 10 to 20kg to a lift per year is good for me now, before I was adding that every couple of months. Oh and I'm 6"2, 105KG

That's impressive still. I've only been doing PL for about a month, like I said in , but I have seen massive progress already.
By this site's standards I'm still doing baby lifts, but I am in no rush to really get to a certain point. I'm in it for the long term benefits. Other than that I've been workout out for almost a year now (started in July 2018) as a skinny fat 6'2" 185 lbs lanklet. Got rid of my gut and am now working on putting on mass through a clean diet.

i feel fat and helpless, i got like 10kg too much. i am lifting and now incorporating some cardio into my program but it makes me just more hungry.
i lost some weight with fasting before but first of all i binged whenever i reached my goal weight and second i gained it later all back.
also, i am afraid i am not strong enough to do it again. fuck.

At the end of a 30-day fast my lifts were

Meh, I only joined a PL gym to get access to proper plates and racks that ordinary commercial gyms didn't have.

I'm still at 154 ± 2 lb. Gaining weight is not easy either.

Ate bread and curd on friday 1100-1300
Ate soup on friday 1800
Ate apple on saturday at 1100
Ate 3 donuts on saturday 1600
Now still havent eaten. I can feel my ass and back thigh. Good stuff. Im skinny fat. My legs are fatty and I had bad posture so I stretched my shoulders to my ears. Fixed neck pain, knee pain, throat pain, wrist pain, shoulder pain, ribcage, foot table, ankle, feet pain, now my muscles get more activation.

also lower back pain, top of my forebrain burned fat during some fasts, pelvis tilt more correct, face gains and clearer skin, acne less active, dandruff on my scalp got better, no more constant hunger or binge eating.

Most powerlifters look like shit, so you're right. I just want to get stronger to a certain point. I have no need to become the best in my weight class or whatever, but rather just improve my health and overall fitness.
