But it's easier to be happy if you're what some people might consider dumb. Things are more simple and straight forward, happiness and existential reasoning happen to be included in that package.

Relationships, something lots of us don't have (or good ones at least), are important for maintaining a happy healthy mind

They help, to be sure. Where I think r9k goes wrong sometimes is not pursuing enough platonic relationships-- they're far more stable, and far more genuine. Romantic relationships (even good ones) can go south and end up leaving you worse off than when you started.

I wish I was dumb, that way I wouldn't feel so bad about failing.
Because of the early potential I showed, I am disappointing my family, and it feels very bad. I had to move away from them and live in a different city just not to see their disappointment at all times. I still haven't ended it, because that would be the most disappointing thing to do, and I would fail them yet again.
