I think the truth is a combination of these points. The fact that split households are normal does not mean that they are actually optimal. Yet on the otherhand, even being able to step into a split household and raise another's child is itself less pathetic than abandoning one's own child. Yet the choice to raise another's child is still pathetic on some level, since it shows you are attracted enough to the parent, a person who has made such serious life mistakes, or has at least suffered a grave misfortune that is not your fault.
So basically, the normie attitude is healthy on some level, it shows people have the capacity to raise rather than abandon a child. But the internet still thinks its pathetic because the standards are absurdly high on here. But the irony is that you should have high standards for such an important task as starting a family, you shouldn't be wanting to start it with an existing broken home.
