If you need the zazzle doodle zam to work out you're NGMI

Any RPG but you may only increase your STR stat

No it's not

Beat saber burns calories
Knockout league is shadowboxing
Obviously it’s not a replacement for lifting or cardio but it’s better than sitting on your ass playing vidya

Punch out for Wii is amazing cardio and it's a good game

I'd believe that a particularly enthusiastic game of beat saber burns as many calories as a lazy, fuck around game of tennis. The average beat saber sesh does not burn as many calories as the average game of tennis. There's a lot of running involved in tennis if you're actually trying.

>At least it’s better than sitting on your ass with normal vidya
Being slightly better than the next worst thing doesn't make something good. Sitting around in your ass playing vidya is better than sitting on your ass eating pizza and playing vidya, that doesn't qualify it as a healthy lifestyle choice.

Proper shadowboxing involves constantly working your feet and torso. That's where most of the work comes from. If you're playing punchout league and practicing your footwork, ducking and weaving, etc then it would approximately resemble shadowboxing. I'd wager 99% of the people playing the game aren't doing this, and are barely moving anything other than their hands and arms. Also I've never played the game but I don't imagine it involves more than a few minutes of uninterrupted activity at a time.

You've got to be fucking kidding me

Wii boxing is really fun to play and good for cardio.

Don't listen to these losers, only think about yourself - if it gets you to work out that's awesome.

Progress is better than perfection.

Also, instead of looking for "fit vidya" instead try to find cues in videogames to make you workout. Something like finishing a level = 10 push ups, or something like that.

Wii boxing is to fitness what plastic straw bans are to cleaning the oceans. It makes people feel like they're making a positive change but does fuck all in terms of actual, measurable progress.

It is better than nothing bro, fitness is movement, if it gets you to move that is progress.

Stop being so uncouraging.

Dance dance revolution from the good ol' days

This. Every time i clear a dungeon in binding of isaac, I'll do a set of leg raises, pullups, or pushups. After a couple of hours I've done a full workout without even really noticing.

It yields the same net result as nothing, it's not going to make any noticeable positive impact. Telling someone to give an ounce of effort is not discouraging (I assume that's what you meant by uncouraging) them. It's encouraging them.

Apologies, english is not my first language. Still we are Jow Forums, we should be ENcouraging everyone that comes here, I know this is Jow Forums probably not the best place to find advice but I swear that I've found enough info here to change my life for the best, we should give at least a start for anyone.

Sure. I give people encouragement and advice when they ask for it. Some of it might be wrong but I try the best I can to be helpful when it's something I know. When someone asks something like 'does playing a motion controlled video game count as fitness' I'm going to give them the honest answer: no. I'm not going to lie to them and tell them that it's good enough, that would be bad advice. There are plenty of things that you can do which are both fun and exercise, vidya ain't one of them.

What is going on in this goddamn thread

I don't really get the playstation vs xbox shit throwing. PC and Nintendo both have very significant differences in terms of hardware, games, user interface, target demographic etc. but Sony and Microsoft basically just produce the same console with the same controller and almost all the titles are cross platform, what even is there to argue about?

Xbox is a skeleton but like a cool, badass skeleton. Is this good or bad?

Its good. Microsoft cannot die

unironically I think a high intensity shadowboxing session with VR could be done, we have the technology we just need someone to polish it up.

It can be done on the original wii if you actually try, it's just a lot easier not to.

So(n)yBoy looses his shit and is having a mental breakdown

with the original wii it'd be hard to visualize throwing a high/low jab or a short/long hook, with VR they could make it so you see the pads so you know where to aim at least. They could even have sensors on your ankles so they know if you do/don't step in with jabs or if you cross your feet when you move side to side.

But... you don't get any of that when you're shadowboxing either. It's all up to you.

That would be retarded and overpriced, but granted nintendo did convince a bunch of its fanboys into shelling out 80 bucks for cardboard

Onions?

I guess I'm think less shadowboxing and more virtual padwork

nah man you just have to market it the right way. Imagine if Manny Pacquiao went 100% into a project like this, I honestly think people would buy it if it had a big boxing celebrity name on it.

Well yeah, put a mario sticker on it and it'll sell well with braindead nintendo fanboys. Everyone else with just think it's a hassle and a waste of money

>Wii boxing is good for cardio.
if you are like 350 lbs, maybe

hey, the portable electric grilling machine wasn't anything special until George Foreman put his name on it.

beat saber's pretty good, especially if you're a fat fuck who's not capable of doing higher quality cardio for an hour straight. you want to do real shit too but an hour and a half of expert/expert+ beat saber will burn 500+ calories easy if you're a fat fuck. And you don't need to leave your house, and you can dance to shitty weeb music.

And how much is one of those vs your imaginary device that will get bingtendies off their asses finally?

Bingetendies wouldn't buy it but normies and boxing fans would. I don't know why you are arguing with me on this, it'll totally work.
