Wrong. I've been doing highbar ATG for 2 years now and RDLs and every time I do these I get sore glutes for 3 days. Same goes for walking lunges and weighted step ups.

i don't find them useful. certainly not with DBs because your grip will run out before your glutes get a proper stimulus.
a lot of people find them useful as an accessory, and if you are one of them then great. personally nothing hits my glutes harder than heavy squats and deficit deadlifts, but i am one person.

Even more for quads, at least for me during set. My quads get destroyed everytime. Love doing these in regular split stance without bench with barbell on back.

nobody thinks this anymore. soreness is indicative of muscle damage and is really one of the key things that are used to gauge the effectiveness of a certain lift.
if you get pumped from an exercise and if you get sore from an exercise in the target muscles, chances are you have applied an appropriate stimulus and that exercise is good for you. there's no 1:1 correlation here, but you can be fairly certain.

I think a split squat has carryover effects similar to the effects gripwork has on deadlift and pullups. If you can do a weighted dead hang for 1 minute, pullups get way easier.
Usually when I'm feeling weak at the bottom of a squat I realize I've been neglecting split squats.

your leg day is done, if you are male. You can do an Upper/Lower split like ULxULUx.
