i was out of shape in high school and very withdrawn. went to a small prestigious private school that i hated. had great test scores but erratic grades so i took a scholarship to a big state school. everyone thought of me as a lazy underachiever, but after a year in college i had great grades and transferred to a top 10 uni. i also grew another couple of inches (making me 6'2), got skinny (making my face look way better, and then lean bulked my way to an athletic physique. got a nice short haircut after years of having messy long hair, too. i finally saw some old friends from high school while i was back in town recently and they were stunned, taking pictures and sharing it with other people from our school and they couldnt believe what college i was at. it felt really nice.
i've got two
oneitis in hs that got away (i was too B E T A). freshman year she actually asked me to homecoming and I FUCKING SAID NO. BECAUSE I WAS SO WEAK AND S O Y and afraid of the whole thing. After that she started dating some football player and lost all interest in me. met back up with through facebook after college. i was buff and bearded then and she just kept saying how i was like a different person from the nose down, but my eyes were the same. but mentally i was different as well, strong and assured, confident. raw dogged her ass for months, she loved it. also my first screamer. literally thought the cops would be called a couple of times.
second was a few years ago. got dumped and ghosted by a girl i was dating for 6+ months and made huge committments towards her (moving, job change, leaving another relationship,etc). It was a huge wake up call... started drinking and smoking and lost a ton of weight unable to eat. When I finally snapped out of it, i went full Jow Forums mode once agaon and a few months later she texts me. When she comes over later, she couldnt stop staring at my arms and kept touching me. she mentioned several times that i looked great.
