Usualy you are supposed take out the entire engine, remove the timing cover and use the markers on the chain and sprockets to get the timing right.
However that requires to take out the transaxle, wich means you need to drop the entire rear axle and suspension as well.
As this would be rather time consuming, a general pain in the ass and require me to get everything aligned again, I did it my way.
