No

No - only deadlifts and bench press are overhyped, although bench press not nearly as much.

who the fuck overhead presses with this wide of a grip

For hypertrophy, no. For practicality, box squats are better than traditional squats for my knees.

snatch?

> he doesn't

same with deadlift

I want to see the results of someone just doing these 6 lifts and nothing else.

"deadlift"
>shows a guy doing a snatch
"overhead press"
>shows a guy doing a snatch
what did he mean by this?

Ego lifters trying to get the smallest possible ROM?

I only started seeing signinificant gains when I stopped being afraid of compounds, especially chest gains and bench press so no they aren't a meme

>muh hypertrophy
>muh aesthetics
>pls like me now girls

Pathetic

only if the training style/rep range/ROM/etc is focused towards a non-hypertrophy goal like strength. strength does not equal hypertrophy if people tell you that just walk away

So what DO you lift for?

It'll probably be impossible, since most people do isolations from time to time. Whoever only does compounds will look fine, he's just gonna need more time than people who add isolation work

They’ll look better than you

I lift heavy to improve my weak psyche and discipline

Don't be sensible

no, they deserve their reputation. relying solely on them may lead to an incomplete physique and then adding isolation for things like abs, side/rear delts, traps etc may be necessary.

conventional DL is probably the least useful of the common compounds because of their recovery demands, but these can be easily subbed out with RDLs, SLDL, power shrugs and other compound lifts.

basically, if you can bench, BB row, squat, pull up, dip, RDL etc using heavy weights for sets of 10, you will look fantastic.

Slow down with the abbreviations there bub what do these words mean? Help a friendly skellington out

powerlifters are an OK example. they're only OK because they usually have a fairly high bodyfat which obscures their physiques, but the lighter guys often look pretty good. the only thing they usually lack is arms and delts. they often also have rather blocky cores due to all the heavy squats and DLs, and their upper legs are usually too big to be aesthetic in my opinion, but otherwise they look amazing when lean. in fact, neglecting their arms and delts, they often look indistinguishable from bodybuilders in the off season

rdl is romanian dead lift, sldl is a stiff leg dead left,
dl is dead lift, bb row is a barbell row.

Came here to post this. Even the bench and pull ups looks wide. You CAN do them like that but shouldn’t be primary

Pop in pendlays somewhere and you could definitely get a good physique. Bugez basically only does heavy compounds.

a little glossary for ya:

BB = barbell
DB = dumbbell or decline bench
OH = overhead
SG = snatch grip
CG = close grip
OHP = overhead press
PR = personal record
BTK/ATK = below the knee/at the knee or above the knee
BTN = behind the neck

>I ego lift for numbers

nothing wrong with snatch grip deadlifts.

You forgot

GTFOANRYSPOS

BTFO = bent the fuck over

ex. BTFO Rows

like a lat pulldown but with a barbell?

>you will look fantastic
Providing your diet us on point or you are genetically gifted.

A good routine should consist of compound lifts as well as isolations that carryover to your main lifts, address your weaknesses and prevent muscular imbalances

The person who designed this has never stepped a foot in a gym.

>provided your diet is on point
of course
>or you are genetically gifted
most people can look great with this. gotta remember that most people who lift actually do look good but internet body dysmorphia tricks people into thinking anything below zyzz mode is dyel mode

Surprised I got that one.
You forgot the most important ones:
BONER = Bench Only No Effort Retard
CHODE = Communist Homo Of Dick Eating

Kek

I would argue that he probably does assistance work of camera

I do all of this regularly except for deadlifts and dips. Am I going to be ok? Also I dont do ab work as I was lead to beleive that if you are doing squats properly you will be working on your abs regardless.

Squats are absolutely not enough for abs, unless you have got great ab genetics. I'd recommend doing standing cable crunches every lifting day

can confirm. he's said in previous videos that he works out 3 times a day

once is essentially a normal lifting routine
another is doing the same exercises as his trainees
and the third is at home, the intensive 1 heavy bulgarian light set that he puts on youtube

You forgot BENIS (Bulking Enthusiast, Not In Shape) you fucking UFO (Under Fed Organism)

ILS - Invisible Lats Syndrome

MANLET - what does this acronym stand for?

Attached: FDD78A2A-F806-4F1B-B369-C54713019611.jpg (960x1200, 112K)

Man, all nice ladies (are) evil today.

Fuck.

I'm a BENIS.

FUCK.

>mfw people do deadlifts instead of just doing snatches
>mfw people do ohp instead of just doing snatches

I basically did this for years
physique looked good, arms were a little small

Did u do chinups tho?

yeah. my torso and legs were bigger than my arms though so I eventually added curls and tricep extensions to balance them out

BENIS is great.
I deliberately skipped UFO. It’s just ok.
THOT is literally already an acronym.

Your arms were smaller than your legs and torso?
Hard yikes.

Bench and deadlifts are

>lifting for pussy is better than lifting for yourself and your ego

But did you do weighted chinups?

Midget Asshole, Never Lifts, Eternally Tiny

This

Thats the joke retard i know thot is an acronym or were you just pretending to be retarded cuz if thats the case then im just pretending to be rused

>no horizontal pull

OOF!

Attached: 1236168332203.jpg (768x744, 45K)

>the only thing they usually lack is arms and delts
Ok on the arms, but with a serious OHP delts should look juicy.

Seriously you Murricans stop abbreviating the whole fucking language.

Bench press is an isolation movement

>he thinks muscular imbalances exist

>who is doorbrah

>Wide grip deadlift
>Crossed-legs pullup
>snatch grip overhead press

Attached: dist.jpg (367x380, 39K)

what's wrong with doing pull ups cross legged?

Energy leaks

You should try it, it's much harder than normal grip OHP. Wide grip OHP has way much better carry over to your bench but won't work your shoulders nearly as well. I think the picture is from a snatch catch.

Attached: 1534031562412.png (800x584, 532K)

Only deadlifts and only in regards to hypertrophy. Their effort to reward ratio is great for strength but much less so for aesthetics because bulky midsection is detrimental to a v taper, the amount of energy it takes from you every week isn't proportional to it's lack of aesthetic benefit, and the incidental trap growth doesn't make up for this.

Attached: 4-techniques-reduce-muscle-imbalance_a.jpg (533x800, 55K)

Snatch grip deadlifts are great though:
>deficit
>wide grip puts more strain on upper back / traps
>everyone either thinks you really suck at weightlifting or that you have no fucking clue how to deadlift.

Squats, chin ups and OHP are the only lifts you need to build a good physique, prove me wrong

>implying the ego-boost from women chasing you everywhere you go isn’t 10x that of hitting a heavy squat that you know you won’t be satisfied with for more than a week before you need to go heavier

Attached: 5oIepdi.jpg (735x766, 72K)

I wonder how he looks like by now

>basically, if you can bench, BB row, squat, pull up, dip, RDL etc using heavy weights for sets of 10, you will look fantastic.
Except for having the shoulders of a Kenyan midget.

t. weak faggot with a shit bench and shit deadlift. post body/stats.

how do I get as fridge mode as this?

>tfw can't even into one dip
how, Jow Forums?

t. powershitters who have never set foot in a weightlifting gym

Is it bad if my neck hurts during deadlifts?

I do Ivysaur, which consists of Squats, Deadlifts, OHP, Bench Press, Bent-Over Rows, and Chinups. I've had good results so far, and more importantly I have more fun doing it than I did with SL5x5.

Why yes I'm dyel, how could you tell

Attached: Ivysaur 4-4-8.png (481x584, 31K)

These are all I do minus squats. I don't want a femme ass.

Are the major kettlebell lifts overhyped when it comes to hypertrophy?

Replace squats with deadlift and yeah, you’re pretty much right
