Foods that make you feel strong and energetic thread...

Foods that make you feel strong and energetic thread. I recently made a big bland as fuck stew of yellow peas and felt like a fitness god the day after. Never has my core been more trunk-like or my muscles able to push harder. Copious amounts of garlic in soups seem to have an effect on my alertness. Beans and rice make me a sloth.

Share how you feel after eating different foods and what you do with them.

Lentils do that for me. They don't taste the best but the sustained energy I get for the rest of the day is something else. I think their glycemic index is like 40.

That might be it, but then again I don't get the same effect from pasta which is apparently on the low end as well.

Rice + tuna + any sauce(I like tahini) makes me feel euphoric. Im not exaggerating, it makes me wanna get up and just start hitting things because of how good it tastes. Fuck I'm even eating it right now

I'm bumping this shit, there's no way so few people want to talk about nutrition.

>Beans and rice make me a sloth.
Is this legit? I was planning on making chili con carne with some rice and salad my main meal every day.

Try it for yourself, might affect us differently. This really was just a big pot of rice and beans though, chili has a bit more stuff in it that might change the equation. Essentially I just felt really full and got this heavy feeling in my stomach like I'd swallowed an anvil.

Sugary foods make my joints hurt.
Sugar makes me want to eat more sugar.
Nothing fills/ satiates like eggs.
Veggies w/ hot peppery sauces make me energetic and euphoric...kombucha, too.

The only consistent correlation I've ever found is that fat-free high-dose sugar makes me very horny, libido through the roof, alongside the expected surge in general energy. So a good thing to drink before a date - few bananas, dates, refined sugar

You need the right ratio of beans and rice, amigo. I make a cuban style moros y cristianos, but with 75% black beans and 25% brown rice. That shit is peak workout fuel.

Also don't overeat it. About 1 cup of that stuff only has 200 calories. I can eat 1.5 cups and be very full. If you eat your full 800 calorie meal your stomach will be uncomfortably stuffed.

Something else that I really like is the fiber-os cereal from trader joes. It doesn't really taste good but if you start your day with a bowl of that with whole milk and you will have the cleanest most solid no-wipe shit ever. It's really nice.

>veggies with hot peppery sauce
I gazed upon your eyes and I knew you were my nigga.

load this fucker up with pepper flakes and hot sauce and you will be in heaven. you can make chard, mustard greens, collard greens, even kale tastes good with this recipe. it's a godsend.

Goddamn I need to find a food that does that for me. My lethargy around 3pm/4pm is ridiculous.

I had it more or less the other way around, I'll try your ratio. Overeating is the joy of life though.

If I eat a lotta mashed taters and get carbed up i feel like i wanna lift a car

chocolate milk gives me insane never ending energy

This is Jow Forums. People are only here for braps and tfwnogf.

Discuss the brap aspect then

I want but have to hit the bed now.
good night!

btw I sometimes make some chili con carne like meal just with a ton of chickpeas in OP.
Or grinding them down making my own humus, its pretty great.

Whenever I eat too many carbs I develop narcolepsy. Cannot stay awake and I feel like absolute dogshit for almost a week. I do well on chicken and beef but pork makes me feel off, too. A big steak and a bag of broccoli and cauliflower make me feel like a jet powered fuck machine.

i started taking to work everyday a bowl of chickpeas, black beans, lentils, grilled corn and peanuts, man it tastes heavenly and three hours later when i'm doing any compound i feel amazing

Bump

Recently discovered I'm probably gluten intolerant so not eating gluten for a day makes me feel like I have loads of energy by comparison

Make sure you chew your food properly and many times. This allows much much easier digestion

Are you a neo-nazi?

I've been doing loads of soups and stews lately and feeling better for it. I attributed it to them containing a lot of vegetables and water, but the fact that they're not that solid might be factor too, now that you mention it. Though that doesn't account for enzymes of course. Still something to think about.

Lean cuts of steak.

There's nothing like a well marinated cut of New York strip served with some mashed potatoes or green beans. I feel fucking fantastic after eating a 10 oz cut.

i made a faaaaaat pot of burracho beans made with salt pork, pork neck, and negra modelo last night. by far the most delicious thing ive ever cooked. today was an off day so i’ll have to eat a shitton of it tonight and see if they give me an edge in the gym tomorrow

Help me out man. I hate eating steak because i always end up getting unchewable parts(fat?) and it's really awkward pretending to wipe my face and spitting it out to napkin. What do?

not that user but
learn to cook for yourself so you can spot it for yourself
either clean the fatty chunks off the meat before cooking
or cook it with the fats [makes it tasty] then cut off and eat around the fatty chunks. usually lerimeter will have the chunky fats and sometimes a line running down somewhere in the center.
if you simply pull at the ribbon of fat it should come right off as the meat separatez easy at the points where the fat form a border

if anything, dont shy awY from spitting those fat chunks right out. theres no shame in spitting out unpalatable peices.

if anyone queztions your actions say "sorry did you want this peice?" and offer them the regurgitated fat chunk

Thanks user, I'll try it out. I've never seen anyone else spit out fat so I thought I was being autistic.

Spicy peppers give me feelings. I eat them whole, like an asshole. Flaxseeds make me feel energetic and are great for digestion, I usually hydrate them overnight and have them crushed or processed, with pomegranate juice or yogurt. Fish is great, and I don't feel full nor groggy no matter how much I eat.

On the other side, milk, sauces, pasta, bread, sweets, cinnamon and fat kill me. Well, except my Nonna's cooking, that can never be bad.
Oh yeah, a friend recently told me that he doesn't get headaches with soft drinks, I thought everyone had them.
