Fine if you're trying to lose weight or have some sensitivities to food. Overkill for most.

Just:
- Stop eating so much processed food, especially sugar.
- Stop eating so often, 2-3 meals a day is best.
- Don't consume seed oils (sunflower, rapeseed, ect... Olive is fine)

You haven't looked into all the cognitive benefits etc though you're just being a fucking NPC spouting off generic middle of the road pussy shit.

>cognitive benefits

Please don't ever respond to me again

I never said that. But if you're looking to merely not get a heart attack at the age of 50 nor get diabetes then that's more than enough.
If you combined that with regular exercise and try to live stress free it's a big chance you'll still be healthy and on your feet well into your 70-80s.

Its pure meme and broscience, better go vegan, your gains will be guaranteed.

I've never met a fit person that does keto. The only people I've met that do keto are perpetual fatasses that fail diet after diet. People that advocate keto online are way more likely to be anti-vaxxing retards or promote drinking bleach for it's health benefits.

keto has cognitive benefits it's pretty well documented.

Completely cured me of hypoglycemia, carbs just down work well with my body.

>you're an npc
>is defending keto
lmao

>well documented
you can also find tons of studies showing how red wine is good for you. You can find something positive for almost everything. Don't strangle yourself with something new that one study showed to be benificial. Labcoats are retarded.

>You can find something positive for almost everything. Don't strangle yourself with something new that one study showed to be benificial.
You're forgetting that because of what you typed, there is info out there to help someone tell which studies are bullshit, outdated, or 100% true. Who knows if the cognitive benefits are legit.

Your brain runs better on ketones, it's not a huge difference, but there obviously is one. Everyone who goes on a ketogenic diet reports this as well including myself.

Show a serious study demonatrating this

Also keto will literally kill you if you pursue it in the long term. Ever hear of TMAO?

Probably works, but carbs are cheap and still essential for gains. Just pick out the good ones.

It's fine but hardly anyone does it perfectly, there's carbs everywhere.

It is however, only good for weight loss

>Self-reporting
How about scientific analysis + countless nutritionists that do not support it?

So every person ever saying they noticed better cognitive function is just lying right? There's also countless studies if you just used google.

>evolve eating a ketogenic diet for millions of years
>suddenly its bad

>evolution selects for long lifespans
Why are you this stupid? Is it the American education system?
I'm willing to concede that prior humans that ate mostly meat were stronger and more equipped to procreate, but when one speaks of health they speak of longevity, ie not dying of heart disease at 65
We no longer live in tribes where you need to brute force your way into the genepool.

i didnt shit in 5 days
what is my body doing

go see a doctor right away

>evolve eating a ketogenic diet

Diets varied wildly based on region. There's no such thing as a standard diet for the primitive man or even early man because people just ate whatever the fuck was around them.

>can't perform at his best on the gym because insufficient glycogen due to low carb intake
>can't maximize MPS because protein intake capped to avoid being kicked out of ketosis
So, inefficient for dirty bulking, lean bulking, recomp and looks like for cutting too as protein should be higher to mitigate catabolism, again considering healthy gym goer.

Sedentary obese diabetic people could benefit from it though.

yeah, no

Is this a girl or a boy

/Thread

I think a lot of people don't even know what it is. It's become a buzz word fad diet. I saw these "keto bars" at the store. Everything in them was a carb and they have 15gs of carbs per bar. You have to maintain under 30gs of carbs for several days in order to reach ketosis from what I understand.

Pic unrelated

Ive been on it for many years was 215 at 5 7 and now 155-160

I did it for around 6 months. Lost good weight.

However it's too restrictive for me. Rice, oats, carby vegetables and so on aren't poison and ketards who think they are need to hang.

Wake up, salt water flush "TBLS of sea salt in 1litre luke warm water" wait -shit-shit again wait shit again maybe, drink water, buy some peanuts eat them all chew chew chew. Next morning you're welcome

tried it for a month, got meself constipated, then lost 12 pounds doing CICO. I did lose some fat, but it made me feel bloated as fuark.

Is keto good if you're just a fat fuck and trying to lose weight?

For pure weight loss and nothing else, yes ...and only if you can 100% stick to it.
Otherwise you should just it clean, do cardio everyday, lift weights three times a week, and stay at 20-30% caloric deficit. Cheat meal once a week is kinda ok too.

Do you enjoy being a low IQ retard? The reason carbs are bad for humans is described in the "Randle Cycle". Your metabolic machinery has essentially two gears. Carbs or Fat. When you mash the two together the metabolic gears don't hybrid, and it creates an inflammatory situation in the body.

Over a long term eating carbs will perpetuate metabolic disorders in the body. Most people who eat tons of carbohydrates become diabetics or suffer a vastly higher rate of heart disease, others suffer degeneration as a consequence of this. Diabetics for instance cannot eat starches, let alone the majority of plant foods.

The other factor in "plant food" are the passive defensive mechanisms such as Oxalate or phytic acids, cellulose matrix which denies the human digestive track nutrients. It both deprives the human body of nutrients and poisons people at the same time. Oxalate will variably cause rashes, joint pain, fibro and other nervous system disorders if ingested over a long term. In elderly, half of them has accumulated deposits of oxalate in their thyroids.

So if you decide to be a carb dieter, you would in essence be a vegan and it should be plainly obvious what happens to those people. People on a animal fat, protein diet will in the coming decade be the winning horse, as there doesn't seem to be much indicated against, except if you're eating processed sources of such food.

user do you know the terms "placebo" and "confirmation bias" or do we really need to run you through Critical Thinking 101?

Fantastic for fatties
Suboptimal for anyone else

If you have trouble understanding what is written there about the Randle Cycle, google Bart Kay. He's a former researcher, pathophysiologist who talks often about the Randle Cycle and the metabolic effect of carbohydrates on the body.

Thanks user

I've met lots of fit people that are consistently low carb/keto.

Keto is awesome for fast cutting in late spring and low carb (sub 50g/day) is a great long term nutrition plan.

No it isn't. DYOR

ok retard

I think it's for preventing seizures, and using it for weightloss is retarded.

You don't think at all

>over a long term eating carbs will perpetuate metabolic disorders in the body
No it won't, you're acting the same exact way a vegan does when they refer to those who consume a mixed macronutrient standard American diet as 'meat eaters'
>So if you decide to be a carb dieter, you would in essence be a vegan and it should be plainly obvious what happens to those people.
A few cherry picked raw vegan/fruitarian idiots in a youtube compilation isn't really reflective of reality. At the very least, vegans and vegetarians are shown to live longer and have much fewer health issues than SADers.

You really don't have to be an extremist ideologue

It works really well for me for cutting. It's not good for bulking.

I tried it out for a short time, but the restrictions were too annoying for me. I love to bake and although there are keto reacharounds to avoid carbs, it just removed something that I loved for really no gain. It's not like it's good macros or anything. And it's really not that much better than a normal deficit unless you're jabba the hutt. so there was just no real reason for me to continue it.

>I love to bake
So you're a numale.

>Honest thoughts on the keto diet?

When cycling 1 month deep on keto. Went hypoglycemic, completely depleted my glycogen stores and nearly passed out.

Fuck keto

>your brain runs better on ketones
>what is brain damage caused by an increase and continuous use of ketones

Post proof.

God you fags are so far behind in diet trends. Just skip keto and go straight to raw meat. Its what your body craves

I wish I was a girl just so I could wear clothes like that desu

It works really well to lose weight, I lost 80 pounds on it. But don't expect to get many gains on it
