I wished I had made more of an effort to learn how to skate in my childhood. Inline skating looks fun as fuck once you learn how to do It properlly.

Ye I started when I was 10. Literal grandmaster here, but it took some time to get into shape again.

Soccer moms can be a pain on skateparks. The police was called at least once a month on me and my friends because we were older than the 14 yo average.

I am extremely skilled and accomplished at rollerblading. Should I come out?

Wheel bros, help me out. I want to get into roller skating as I live in a coastal Texas city and want to develop a fun new cardio hobby. I really, really don’t want to start on inline/blades, but every pair of 2x2 roller skates I can find online look fucking corny and leather and stupid. Zero athletic style roller skates.

Anyone have recs on non-ugly 2x2? Should I nut up and go inline/blades as a beginner? Thanks dudes

Dude 2x2 is no fun at all. Go 4x4 from the beginning and get full ammo.

- Hillbilly shorts (google them) to protect ur ass, it's the only short that does this. Ur ass will suffer the most.
- POC kneepads with a hard shell, the other kneepads are garbage
- protectors for arms and hands, I have a "o'neal underdog protector jacket" + hand protection
- a helmet

You literally can get hit by a car at 20 km/h with this gear and just shrug it off. I've also learned kiteboarding with this gear, it's actually fun falling from the sky from 2m height and then getting dragged for 10m across the meadow without getting hurt.

If you're not a literal gay stereotype, imo inline skating is kind of cool in an ironic way. It's not lame if you arent lame

What's wrong with inline exactly? I never bothered with them and started with inline at like age 8 or something. Literally zero balance issues or anything.

Also I convinced my gf to roller skate and it's fun as fuck. You can go pretty much anywhere. We have a blast and laugh at all the high impact running plebs.

Man fuck that. I go to my local a couple times a week. As a 23 year old, I skate with the last generation and the next alike. If anyone called the cops on the guys who helped establish skate culture in my city for being "too old" Id be livid.

me2 and the best thing is it's hardcore cardio and you won't feel like you're doing cardio because you're so focused on riding and going faster

It's a shame these have been feminized so much. Would be a fun workout.

I got the K2 trio because my feet don't like a hard shell, it's quite fast and I'm pooping my pants a little sometimes. You also have a little less grip which also tingles my suicide wish.

But there are also some nice hard shells:

Inline skating is fucking fun, going fast as fuck is fun. Its also extremely low joint impact for cardio excercise and wont fuck with your nuts like biking nor joints like running.

I only know 5,8er from agressive skating. It's quite a difference.
