How do I safely do an extended fast?
>Take snake juice, or just supplement electrolytes.

>Potassium chloride =1 tsp (No Salt)

I've started skipping dinners and have noticed that I sleep better and can wake earlier without difficulty. Is this normal?

Is it absolutely necessary to drink my protein shake within 30 minutes of finishing my workout? The problem is I started intermitment fasting and I usually start eating around 5 so I'd go workout at around 4 and when I get back home I can break my fast with a shake. But I'm considering going to the gym a lot earlier since it gets pretty busy around that time since it's on campus and I rather not wait to do my shit.

I'm at hour 50 now, feeling a bit exhausted. I ate a huge amount of carbs before the fast, like 2 days worth of it. Am I feeling weak because I'm only now starting to get into ketosis?

/summerbulk/ reporting in with more progress. Took new measurements, seeing objective gains in all areas at the same bodyfat% I began at over a month ago. Lean gains are real, and a fasting-focused lifestyle makes it not only possible, but actually pretty easy. I'm sitting at about 10% now, the next experiment is dipping down to the 8% range and seeing how sustainable that is. Let me know if y'all bulkers have any questions, but the tl;dr is:
>20:4 IF
>200-300kcal surplus
>low carb (about 100g or so)
>do a 48-72 hour fast when you hit a personal fatness threshold (12% for example)
>reduce daily surplus if you hit your fatness threshold more often than every 3 weeks

I'm planning on starting my cleanbulk after getting shredded by the end of the July and it's kinda similar to yours. My plan:

>20:4
>500Kcal surplus
>Vertical diet (meat, rice and everything nice)
>one 4 day fast every month
>train 2 day split 5 days a week.

Aiming for 500Kcal daily surplus should be more than enough to achieve maximum hypertrophy. My daily calorie expenditure is roughly 2800-3200 daily so that adds up to roughly 12000 kcal deficit which balances out the 13000Kcal surplus from the diet. 4 fasting days per month should also provide me with all the upsides associated with longevity and health.

This is true. I burned myself up with the EOD fasting using 1500Kcal keto refeeds. Now on my 5th day of water fast and shit is so much easier.

I will say that a lower carbohydrate intake lets me get in and out of ketosis quicker, and that's probably how I've been able to hit my fat loss goals in 48 hours or less in conjunction with fasted cardio, but if you're doing a four day fast it won't matter. Does eating higher carb not make you hungrier during your daily intermittent fast? Sure does for me.

Yeah used to play around with lowering carbs and doing keto before fasts, but now having gone into this fast cold turkey from eating carbs I'm all goody.

I've been doing IF or variations of fasting for 7 years now so I guess I'm pretty adapted to not eating during the day. I do remember getting random hungerspikes during the day tho but nothing worth mentioning otherwise. I used to workout at 4PM and eat from 6PM to 10PM so it might be that my inner rhythm had adjusted enough. I also ate most of my calories from starchy brown spaghetti and minced meat which probably played some role in this, being that I would go to bed stuffed.

How do chest meals work when fasting? Do you follow your eating window and just eat whatever? Is the window thrown out?

Potassium supplement is overrated, you dont need that shit unless you go for extremely long fasts and you definitely dont need it in high amounts

Carbon In Carbohydrates Out. It's what your body does when you fast for a while and only have small snacks in between.

If you dry fast are you still keeping the carbsout bit going? I understand that your carbon from fat cells gets hydrated into carbs, but does it come from the water already in your body in that case?

You literally breathe in water in gas-form, that's where a lot of the hydration comes from. Of course it's best to keep hydrated yourself though.

It literally doesn't make a difference whether you drink water or not. Take a biology class, learn about the crebs cycle. The OH produced in the mitochondria while creating the energy your body needs to function is then used to hydrate the carbon (now free radicals technically) in the bloodstream. You do this all the time whether you're drinking or not, that's why you have a Basal Metabolic Rate.

So it seems that this prolonged fasting does not suite me well, or it suits me too well: This is now my third night not getting any sleep. The problems started on the 4th night. I'm kinda inclined to just start doing 72 hour fasts with 1000kcal refeeds, just as cole promoted in his new video. This shit pisses me off, because I've had zero trouble with anything else and barely feel any hunger and my energy is through the roof. But I think that not being able to sleep is a bigger detriment to my fatloss than fasting for shorter periods of time.

I think that the most optimal 1000kcal refeed would be eggs, beef and salmon with carrot, spinach, red pepper and kiwi. This way I would get most of the nutrients that I need.

after breaking a fast, I noticed I didn't get the usual diarrhea I have. I ate again on day 2. Day 3 I began fasting but had the largest stomach pains I've ever experienced. I live alone but I was wondering if I should get a neighbor or an uber to take me to urgent care. I sat on the toilet for about an hour and a half, with waves of pain coming, wondering if some internal organ of mine had just ruptured or if I was going to die. Finally, I let out a tough, constipated shit. After that came out, huge amounts of diarrhea came out behind it. I was literally 'backed up' and my body tried to flush out my colon but couldn't, giving me extreme pain. Would not recommend. Eat your fiber, kids.

I box on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 0600. On those same days, I lift weights after work at 1930. I need to drop a good 35 lbs at the very least. I have gone 6 days, but I have never tried to box while fasted more than 24 hours.
