What the fuck does 5x5 even mean?
What the fuck does 5x5 even mean?
5 sets of 5 reps each
5 square feet
Is 3x8 3 reps for 8 sets?
5 patties 5 slices of cheese
It’s like you guys aren’t even trying anymore now that summer is here
5 plates on each side, though not sure how you balance the 5th
no its 24 square feet
How much do you wait between sets?
1 min 30 seconds for me, even if I feel like I could do it sooner I still wait the full time
most people are awake 16 hours a day, so that should leave you with about 3 hours and 12 minutes between each set. obviously if your day is longer/shorter then you'll have to adjust accordingly
usually it's SETSxREPS so 3 x 8 would be 3 sets of 8 reps
now get the fuck off this board before it's too late
when you feel ready, go for the next one. the more weight you are pushing, the more intensity = more rest needed between sets.
Just wait enough to catch your breath, give it a go and if you think you didn't get enough rest just wait a little longer next set.
It's an anime reference
it means lurk moar
You gotta find 5 guys with 5 inch cocks and give them blowjobs 5 times each, if you do this you will get double gains for a whole year.

I always thought it should be the other way around, ie reps x sets.
You thought wrong.
5 sets of 5 reps you increase the weight every set and you rest 3-5 minutes between sets
I do my workout as a big circuit so I don't get back to the same exercise for close to 10 minutes. Am I cheating myself?
Why is 5x5 beneficial over 3x5?
What if you do 1x5 but the weight is really heavy.
or conversely, why not 10x5?

>Why is 5x5 beneficial over 3x5?
because 5x5 > 3x5
>What if you do 1x5 but the weight is really heavy.
it would be extremely painful
>or conversely, why not 10x5?
why not? if you have the time 10x5 > 5x5
>why not? if you have the time 10x5 > 5x5
well I imagine at some point if you increase the sets enough then you'd be only lifting a 20kg empty bar, as you would need to lower the weight in order to complete all the sets. at some point it would become cardio instead of building muscles.
nah, if you watch the biggest dudes at the gym usually just use small dumbbells for trillions of sets
