I’ve lost motivation to work out. My job always has me tired as fuck and I can only hit the gym like 3 times a week. I feel like I’m not gaining any muscle on the days I do go so what’s the point? I’ll have a pump for a day then I’m back to my skinny fat self until I hit the gym again. It’s like none of my progress stays. What the fuck do I do Jow Forums?

I work doubles at my job as a waiter by the time I’m out I’m literally exhausted and have no energy. Those 3 days are the only days I have off and have enough energy to go.
As for diet, I’ve tried cutting out all sugars and fats and stick to protein and shit, but I’m scared to bulk up cause I’m skinny fat so idk if I should fast or bulk.

what would you say if I told you getting yourself to the gym would be the hardest part and that it actually might give you more energy if you did something like a ppl routine that takes an hour at most?
Also you shouldn't worry about cutting or bulking if you really are skinnyfat, if you can just eat clean and lift you will see progress
It’s hard trying to go to the gym after working 3-3 (yes, 3pm-3am). Literally by the time I’m done I can barely keep my eyes open. Then the days I DO have off I sleep like crazy cause I’m so exhausted. Idk man I like hitting the gym but I feel like all this time I’ve wasted my time there and I don’t think I want to “start over” for a lack of better word.
3pm to 3am is pretty nutty. I've done 12 hour shifts before (labor too) and I understand your exhaustion.
Not to sound like a dick but I think your best bet would be to find a new job. Sounds like your current job is really wearing your out.

I make okay money. The thing is I get comfortable at my job and don’t want to leave despite the fact that it exhausts me. I think I may just have to focus on money and forget the gym, because I can’t reasonably balance both lives at the same time. Not to mention the fact that I would basically be “starting over” when it comes to gains and progress, and the fact that I haven’t made any real progress in the 2 years I’ve been working out just kinda discourages me to even continue.
Have you considered this?
1 hour a day is enough for a ppl routine that will get you results if you diet correctly, and it won't even be hard because if you are on your feet all day your tde is going to be pretty high.

I go for more than a hour when I do go, but I have a lot of issues that prevent me from REALLY working out. For example, I have gyno, so no matter how much I hit chest day I still have flappy tits. I know the only way to properly get rid of them is for surgery, but I unfortunately don’t have money for that kind of treatment. Idk man, it feels so pointless going when you know you’re only going 3 days a week, and on TOP of that, you have a genetic disorder that prevents you from making gains.
I need all the sleep I can get. I don’t go to bed till 6 am in the morning most times and when I get up it’s time for work.

Keep training hard as fuck, lift heavy, and cut. It could just so happen you have shit fat distribution and/or pec insertions. For some reason Jow Forums has always defaulted to gyno as having anything to do with fat on pecs. The reality is gyno is a rare thing. Its possible you do have it, but rolling the numbers here and judging by the fact that you are overweight I'd say it is way more likely you're just in dire need of a cut.
I mean it MIGHT be gyno, but I really doubt it is. See a doctor and get it confirmed. I don't think it is, usually gyno has more of a 'boob' look to it where as you look like you have an actual pec that is just layered in fat like said

I worked server life for years and even longer shifts. Its totally possible to balance both.
I worked 10 am to 1 am the following day sometimes. I went to the gym every day on my lunch break and did a 45 minute workout. You don't need to spend more than that and if you do a brosplit you'll have plenty of energy leftover .

Do bigger compound lifts 3 days a week then and do some minimal cardio and calisthenics every morning even if its just squats and jumping jacks for like 5 minutes.

+a couple assistance shits (curls/skullcrushers/lateral raises/rear delt flies etc)
started 5x5 with (NOT)linear progression but now do some kind of improvised periodisation (low/medium/high rep with an appropriately challenging weight, always aiming to lift approximately more than last time i did the same kinda rep ranges)
kinda just winging it while applying fundamental concepts
wait its not clear that i usually do ONE of each of the lower + push + pull class of movement movement (on a daily rotation)
Hey man former gyno victim.. I got my insurance to pay for my surgery.. call my doctor told them my chest was constantly sore and painful, it was keeping me from able to sleep and was taking a toll on my life.. (work, driving, health all taking a hit from constant pain and inability to sleep) this was not true but I needed the surgery.. went to see a general practitioner he referred me to a tit doctor. Tit doctor prescribed me gyno pills which do nothing after the gyno has solidified in your chest, did not take pills because they are pointless. Tit doctor tried to tell me there was nothing more to do. I told her this was unacceptable and this was destroying my life. She referred me to a plastic Surgeon who agreed to do the procedure under my insurance. I’ll I had to pay was my deductible, it was an out patient surgery. I actually had to have to procedures second to clean up extra skin. My insurance was Kiser. Call a doctor claim your in pain, no way to tell if your lying or not.. also before surgery they did lots of blood work checked hormone levels and ultrasound my testicles. My gyno was from puberty and got worse from alcohol and weed. Surgery sucked ass but was so worth it my chest is amazing after 2year 8months in the gym.. good luck annon gyno sucks ass
