Chocolate is high in fat and low in carbs. Fatties crave fat and detest carbs, which is why they all flocked to low-carb diets the second someone told them that it's "good for you" to avoid carbs. A preference for actual sugar is associated with reduced body weight and better metabolic health, which makes sense when you uunderstand how sugar and carb intake relates to FGF21, leptin etc. Fatties are FGF21-resistant from all the fat they eat, hence they've destroyed their natural sugar-based metabolism

This has nothing to do with genes, you simply have a stomach bacterium that use your vagus nerve to request and reward you for eating particular foods through basic biological chemicals and responses. This isn't to say the body will use past foods that had particular nutrients to associate and request them, but if you're overweight it is more likely your culturing medium of your intestines is very acidic and filled to the brim with worms and parasites. The best place to start to get rid of these is by creating a better terrain in your stomach, and not killing them. The worst thing you can do to feed these are consuming processed sugar and uncooked meat. They thrive off toxicity, blood, and fermentation. Replace breakfast with teas like black walnut or paudarco tea. Eat more ripe, fresh, and organic fruits/veggies, chlorophyll is important. Use a slow cooker for meat, and stay away from grains and dairy in general.
If you crave for chocolate, it's because your body actually wants magnesium, so eat almonds/nuts instead.

Food is like cocaine and nicotine, if you don't learn good eating habits from early childhood enforced by your family, and learn to eat for sustainance rather than enjoyment, you're most likely fucked for life, you could fix your shit and stay nice and fit for a couple of years, only to fall off the wagon like the addict you are and relapse.

do some fasting, it'll make you appreciate normal food again. also stop buying crap. do at least 72hr fast, anything you eat after that will taste incredible. eat for fuel, not pleasure. I used to comfort eat everyday. i did some fasts last year, and then 3 months of OMAD, and now I have no cravings for sugar at all.
