>thinking anyone on Jow Forums is anything but an acne riddled neckbeard with glowing blue basement computer skin

My skin issues are not completely fixed. I have alot of post inflammatory marks on my back, as well as some on my face, and rosacea. After a 7 month stint of accutane I no longer get pimples but I never had severe pimples to begin with. At the very least it has stopped the cycle of healed pimple --> scarring so that my scarring can fade. My rosacea was completely unaffected from the accutane and could be caused by any number of issues regarding immune health or allergies. It is not feasible for me to try every random thing so I will get a fairly cheap laser surgery at some point.
The most important thing I did for improving my skin was understanding the pathology. Many of what people call "pimples" are actually post inflammatory marks, either hyperpigmentation or erythema. If you believe this is "acne" you are mistaken, it is the vestiges of acne, and in fact many treatments that attack real acne will make your scarring worse or prolong the healing process by destroying your body's natural moisture barrier.

Ive noticed the biggest guys on my gym have their back full of pimples or stuff like that. Don’t really know what causes that, but if you talk about the face its quite simple
>stay hydrated
>dont eat trash food
>wash your face periodically
You can wash it with water or with a neutral soap

uh, gear..

Had bacne for years. Figured out it was tomatoes and sugar causing it.

lol for some people it is literally not that simple

I agree. the person you responded to is not thinking with intelligence. washing your first occassionally will not help people prone to cystic acne or other genetic skin issues

How were the sides from the accutane? I heard they can be a bitch.

my acne was caused by sugar

i stopped drinking dairy / eating yogurt as a means to bulk and used cetaphil on my back. Cleared up almost completely

Only dry lips. It did not cause blood issues, organ problems. However the drying of the lips was extreme and on a couple ocassions they hurt due to their dryness. A hydrocortizone lip balm is a must.
I was also actively wrestling and lifting when I took it and it did not cause an issue even though it is known to make you more prone to injury.

Hormonal treatment and later in life laser

This is actually good advice. You need to diagnose the problem first before you let some vegan tell you to meditate the acne away.

"Marks" could reduce with appearance with some sun exposure for a light tan. Scarring can be reduced with dermarolling or better yet laser treatments.

Acne is tough because it could be anything even just working out, I'm finding that reducing sugar is reducing the number of breakouts (not a cure though) I get at 23. A no/low sugar diet is hard because you just cannot eat bread or fruit so you basically jump on a low carb diet or you're signalling that you quit soda as you eat your fifth apple for the day. Accutane has a 100% success rate with vulgaris, but it has side effects that I think people hype up. You could try eating liver or other organ meats daily or EOD (won't kill you, vitamin A overdose is with synthetics or beta-carotene) and low sugar before that. Taking showers daily is a stupid thing to suggest because that's what everyone does already so it's really just "wash your face bro" nonsense.

I've had no success with sacylic acid or peels or anything. Diet also isn't directly linked to skin in anything but it's worth noting they haven't really tested organ meats because of the vitamin A toxicity lie and cultures that survive on that + drinking raw blood have 0 cases of obesity, moderate to severe acne or heart disease.

Ignore anyone that tells you it's simple. These people have genetics that made it so their body could handle keeping acne away better than yours. It's the opposite of obesity. You can be 100% healthy and still have acne so just let those fags patting themselves on the back to fuck off.

Example of somebody who doesn't know shit.

Diet has been linked to skin issues. Look into the connection between diet, the mTOR pathway, and acne.

Essentially, a hypocaloric, high dairy, high meat, or high sugar diet will activate the mTOR pathway. If this pathway is overactive, you may get acne. This pathway has also been linked to other diseases of inflammation like diabetes.

salicylic acid body wash scrub is good for the back, use a lufa every day

for face it depends, if its adult hormonal acne you need accutane, if its hormonal but not severe a topical accutane retinoid will work

never take antibiotics for acne, this is the best advice i can give. it fucks you up permanently and the acne comes right back once you stop taking it (you have to stop taking it)

I've had acne since I was 9 or something. You can try simple fixes (cutting dairy, eating healthy, drinking a bunch of water, etc.) but it doesn't work for everyone. Personally, drinking a fuckton of green tea and using cotton everything has helped. You should have cotton undergarments, bedset (sheets, pillowcase, etc) and shirts. Be sure to wash your clothes every day and your bedding at least every two weeks. To clear body acne specifically, I use a wash called PanOxyl anywhere I have acne (leave it on for 2-5 minutes and wash off with cool/lukewarm water.) It is strong so don't leave it on for very long and be careful using it around your face. It is really drying so use a lotion right when you get out of the shower.

Sorry you're genetically inferior

For me it was sugar. When I abstained from it (not completely, but just stopped consuming sugar heavy foods, like cakes and pop) they would disappear, when I started eating sugary things again, they would appear. Just gotta find out what's causing it.

A few other tips
Consider what other soaps you use. Almost all laundry detergent makes me break out and the same goes for shampoo. If you get acne on your hairline or back it could definitely be shampoo.
Please choose products without fragrance or essential oils. They don't have any benefits and are very irritating.
If you feel the need to exfoliate I would recommend a wash off salicylic acid product (please don't leave it on your skin for more than 10 minutes.)
If you feel the need to get rid of dead skin, do so gently with a warm damp washcloth. If you try to use a scrub it will irritate your skin even more. Your dead skin is already exfoliating itself, please don't damage the healthy skin underneath it.
Try to take lukewarm/cool showers, extreme temperatures shock your skin. Long showers and hot showers are both very drying.
Don't use more than one active ingredient at a time, they could react badly or cancel each other out.
Shower after workouts, or at least change clothes. Don't rub with a towel, it is very rough on your skin. Drying off with a clean t-shirt is ideal, but at the very least, pat yourself dry, don't rub.
Lastly, just be nice to your skin. It seems like guys are much rougher while drying their skin. Your skin could break out because its dried out and you pull at it too hard. Friction is really bad for your skin in any form (tight clothes, too much pressure, etc.)
Please be nice to yourself and your skin. Good luck friend.

As my high school chemistry teacher suggested: Avoid eating chocolate. Most chocolates and sweets contain paraffin, which I have correlated with acne.

cancer as well

This picture looks perfect compared to my back

Trying minocycline atm, not sure it's doing anything. Hope it does though, I haven't swam in years all because of it.

Wash your face before sleeping
Change pillow sheets every 2 nights. Your face sticks to it 8 hours at a time.
If u don't have extra pillow sheets, just use shirts

Had acne on my back when Incas a teen. Thankfully my face got spared. Took Accutane for a year, never came back.

Isotretinoin
also try cutting whey, works for me, went from 3 scoops/day to 0 my skin is much clearer

Nigger

Nizoral on my face

Had it really bad until I cut down on my lactose.

I only have acne at the bottom part of my back. What to do? I have no acne anywhere else.

Dropped dairy, fucking disgusting shit desu, everyone I know in my family always comments on how great my skin looks now, used to have bad cystic acne

Old fuck here that used to get acne into his 30's.

Ditch the milk. Drink lotsa water.

Ditch the sugar.

These helped.

What rid me of acne on the face and back completely though was dropping the shitty shampoos and soaps.

Anything with parabens, sulfates or heavy perfumes causes my face and back to break out.

It the fucking poison in cosmetic products you smear on your skin causing alot of breakouts.

Besides the cancer...

I had acne as a teen a few years ago - since I've got a bit older its pretty much stabilised, hormones n stuff.

If you're and adult and you still have acne, there are a few things you can still do that worked for me - first is every morning, do a hot water wash on the affected areas, then dunk them/douse them in cold water - the hot will open the pores and clear out any immediate stuff and then cold water shrinks the pores, squeezing anything else out. Wipe it down gently after doing this like you normally clean.

Avoid anything that rubs - I realise what caused the acne after I went hiking and my backpack caused a massive flare up on my back. Try using a lighter bag/messenger back instead of a heavy/large backpack

Eat healthy. You're on fit so you may be doing that already but honestly the oil and shit doesn't help.

If it persists you can see your pharmacist or doctor - you might even get something free depending on your country and how accessible healthcare is

Honestly, these things tend to sort themselves out with a little self-help, but it does take some time. Don't do anything too rigorous - I tried to do everything at once to get rid of acne and it irritated my skin more and caused it to get worse.

If you do need extra help, pharmacy is the best place to start as it will be cheaper than seeing a doctor (if you do have to pay)

no u

My back and chest were absolutely fucked.
What fixed it was 8 months of rigorous hygiene, that's it.

and what about gains?
