Cut first or cut while lifting?

Height: 5’10-11
Weight: 179-182
Body Fat: 20-25%

I’m untrained, never lifted much in my life. Should I cut first or cut and lift at the same time?

Another pic, also if it matters I’m 22 years old.

Fatties should eat at slight caloric surplus with high protein intake. That way you'll be able to recompose your body and maximize your noob gains

How the fuck are you guys do fat looking but weigh 15 pounds less than me

Was just gonna ask this. I'm 6' 200 and look way leaner

Cut while lifting. 750-1000 calorie deficit until skelly then 250-400 calorie surplus.

Zero muscle

Cut

you sure your 5'10? look fat af for that weight and height

How the fuck do can you “look fat as fuck” for a height? That makes no sense. And not OP, but his arms looks pretty typical for a dude that is 5’10.

>20-25% bf
OHHHH NO NO NO NO POOL
30% easily
Cut till Auschwitz mode then lean bulk

I’m also 5’10 and have a similar body shape. Bump.

Butting in but curious; I'm in a similar situation. 5'11" but at 160 pounds and a bit less full looking than OP. Still trying to cut out a bit more body fat with mostly cardio (mainly jogging/yoga) a few times a week and currently going lower calorie but what's a good course of action for dieting? So far working on a 1500 or so calorie ceiling per day. Mostly just trying to slim down a bit and not really build muscle.

Keto diet will make you shed fat like butter along with jogging

That's basically the no-carbs-at-all diet, right? You can interrupt that pretty easily from what I'm told but I can look into it. I'm just wondering for the general long-term what a safe level of food intake is for someone like me (skinnyfat-ish). I've gotten not a lot of conclusive answers about what I need to sustain or lose aside from those formulas for calculating general calorie needs. I've considered consulting with a dietician as well.

Get a high protein diet with a slight deficit. You already have fat stored to help you with building muscle. Once you done this for a couple months decide if you want to get more bulk.

>That's basically the no-carbs-at-all diet, right?
Yep, majority fats, moderate protein, low carbs.

>You can interrupt that pretty easily from what I'm told but I can look into it.
Buy ketone test strips that you pee and it will tell you if you’re in ketosis and burning fat. Make a solid diet plan too they have some online you can order by filling in your info and they make you suited for you

>I'm just wondering for the general long-term what a safe level of food intake is for someone like me (skinnyfat-ish).
They recommend to do the diet for a max of 90 days (3 months).

>I've gotten not a lot of conclusive answers about what I need to sustain or lose aside from those formulas for calculating general calorie needs.
Take from my personal experience when I tell you it does wonders and you lose weight very fast.

I more meant if I didn't end up going with Keto what would I generally need for proper weight-loss but those are good to know as well.

The doorframe is 6’8
