Varicocele

does anyone or has anyone had this? i found out yesterday that i have it after going to the doctor because my balls have been hurting, and they found it in an ultrasound. after reading up on it online it looks like i'm going to need some kind of surgery to fix it/remove it. has anyone gone through such a procedure? were you back to normal afterwards, or did it fuck you up permanently?
i'm bugging pretty hard about this, and I don't know what i'm in for. obviously testosterone production is a worry, but aside from my balls aching almost all the time now, i don't feel any different, and i'm perfectly healthy otherwise, but every second that goes by i'm worried this is doing permanent damage and i just want it out of me someone just please talk to me i'm freaking out aaaaaaaaaa

Snip snip who needs balls anyways

I have a 3rd testicle that I've known about for 12 years now. Probably gonna go to the doctor this summer though.

I've had it for years. Eventually the ache dissipates to the point where you don't even notice it. I've got no long-term effects. You could try doing some hip exercises to loosen things up around there, might help with the ache.

I got it back in highschool. Wear tight underwear for a while to keep your balls close is what they told me. eventually I went back to briefs, no long term pain or damage

Mine comes and goes. Maybe one day every other month it will ache a little bit but it always goes away. When I first got it I could barely walk,

I have it and never did anything about it because the pain went away and I forgot about it for years.

I once cannonballed into a pool and landed on my balls and had this. It went completely away after a week or two

I have it but only on one side, no pain and test levels are fine so I don't worry about it.

Same

STOP FUCKING WITH IT.

Had one on my left side since I was 12. It's huge now, but I only get pain when I get anxious about it and start constantly feeling it up. Leave it the fuck alone and the pain will pretty much go away forever.

You'll be fine. I guarantee mine's bigger than yours, and if I can deal with it, so can you.

don't worry user. just get it fixed. it's not that bad.

Don't do that, get operated.
Varicocel fucks your testosterone production and in extreme cases you can lose your nut.

I have a spermatocele. Kind of annoying sometimes but whatever. I'll get it removed after I have kids.

WHAT THE FUCKING FUCK!
I had this slight pain in my right nut a few days and only today i started worrying and now i see this fucking thread. FUCK

varicocele is almost always on the left side though

Surgery can make it worse, especially with one as big as mine Why take that risk if I can manage it? If I go infertile, it's whatever. Bigger tragedies in the world than that.

okay cancer it is. great now im never gonna make it. fml

I know the feeling of pain in your balls, it's right up there with a toothache as far as causing anxiety. Makes you want to pull your hair out. I'm telling you, though, if you just stop fucking with it for a couple days, it'll go away. It happens everytime I play around with it down there because of a one-off twinge of pain I'll get randomly. It's fine to give it a customary check for lumps and shit, but stop poking and prodding it over and over. Your balls aren't meant to be fucked with like that, and you'll make them sore.

I had it.
I just got the operation, could barely walk for a few days after, and then it's all fine..

get the surgery, ask doc all the questions you have

wow. So this is what I have. Literally had no idea for decades.

Mine isn't that bad though, like another user said it'll just once in a while ache for a couple hours then just go away for a long time.

Do you get bonus test from it?

Why can't morons just google the condition?
It never goes away, some might hurt more than others, the pain may even subside, but depending on how bad it is it might
>be harmless health wise, not affecting test/sperm
>decrease sperm quality but not affect test
>obliterate sperm quality making you infertile, with a slight effect on test
>absolutely demolish your sperm and test

I'm at the second level, no effects on test but as my sperm quality is lowered I go through yearly spermograms to check if it's not getting worse, which would make me infertile and it would be time to remove that shit
It also usually makes your balls really small, even though I have 800ng/dl test my balls are comically small, which is made even fucking worse by having a larger than average dick, they are seriously about 1" or smaller

OP here,
thanks for your replies guys, seriously. your comments are reassuring. i'm just going to take as good care of it as i can until i see a urologist and see whether he thinks i ought to get it operated on. as much as i'd like to avoid surgery i'd much rather avoid my balls getting suffocated. but maybe it isn't as bad as i thought. thanks again guys.

Had it since I was like 13, my cousin had it around the same time and had surgery. Later he told me the surgery didn't do shit. I've had 4 kids and only once a few years ago did the pain get too bad and I went to a urologist. Got a few steroid shots in my sack and was good after a couple months.

What's the symptom? Every few months I happen to sit down wrong/shift my thigh weirdly and get a soreness in those, but it goes away after a little bit.

Testicle surgery is nothing to worry about. I had a twisted nut when I was 10 and it turned out fine. It's fused to my nutsack now, but it functions and doesn't feel weird or anything most of the time.

It's definitely something you can manage. I think we all freak out when there's no cure for something, but there are steps you can take to manage it. About 1 in 7 guys have this, so it's actually fairly common. If it was really debilitating, you'd hear more about it. Just go with the flow and take this time to make changes in your life that'll also help with your varicocele. Lose weight, exercise, cut back the sugar, and eat anti-inflammatory foods. If you want a way forward, there's something you can do. We're all gonna make it, and our balls too.

Only get a surgery if the varicocele will make you infertile. I have seen horror stories of people who got the surgery and have never ending pain worse than before the procedure.

My right vas deferen can twist and cause it to hurt down their. Maybe you have same problem? But mine stopped after i k ew u could just turn them the other way to prevent the cords from getting super god damn twisted and hurting

Guys I don't want to alarm you but I have big awesome nuts.

why didnt anyone say Fasting with applying ice packs

Same thing happened with me.

>Fasting
Walt what? Explain nigga

When I was 17 I went to the doc because of it, I thought it was huge as fuck but it wasnt even big enough to qualify as a varicocele. If you have one go to the doc and have it checked, you wont get a boner

Those of you who know you have it but haven't gotten it fixed, aren't you worried of the damage it's likely doing? Is surgery that risky? I've heard of dudes getting it done and their T levels go up afterwards

Lotsa replies with guys claiming good/bad with surgery/none. Listen to your specialist doc. The ultrasound should have shed some like on whether or not you need surgery. The important thing is good blood flow. I went without surgery because my sperm & test are perfectly fine, I have virtually no pain associated with it, and it would have only been for aesthetic reasons. Your case might be different though

Dont get surgery until youve given it time. My pain went away almost completely and i barely notice it.

I'm seeing the doc tomorrow. I was fine for a while but after a few flights across country I started to feel pain. Now, the pain comes and goes. I try to go to sleep and I can feel the blood trying to go in the wrong direction. I most likely need surgery. I don't like the idea of surgery, I've never been in the hospital for anything, but it's better than living with low test. I can already notice a difference in my flaccid size and I don't like it.

My right nut is the shape of a Venn diagram, like two circles squished together. Is that what this is? My docs never said anything about it but I’ve never really asked about it.

same, I first noticed it in 2012, my left balls hurts like 3-4 days out of the year where it's hard to walk, other than that I don't feel any different

How much did you pay?
