$4 plus tip

Why the FUCK was this allowed? $8 wages were too much?

Attached: sonic.jpg (622x424, 104K)

Wagies don't even deserve $4/hour.

Land of the free!

Land of opportunity!

>tipping a fast food worker
ISHYGDDT

It's not fair. I worked my ass off for years and things just keep getting worse.

Attached: wageslave.jpg (2048x1447, 450K)

It is, though. The only reason someone would have been working there is if they lack valuable skills.

Based and undercover redpilled

How can one survive?

By gaining skills. See

>He thinks 4 bucks an hour is OK.

I used to make 3x that, doing fuck all.

and that was just about 20 years ago.

Attached: 18lvtf4jur8dkjpg.jpg (299x475, 34K)

>Unless you're exceptionally talented you should be paid nearly nothing

Attached: disappointed.png (657x527, 29K)

>society says we need certain jobs to be fulfilled
>like retail, fast food, gas station workers, janitors etc etc
>working any of these jobs 40 hours a week won't even get you a 1 bedroom apartment

fuck this

Skills? It's who you know not what you know. Stop being unfair to those who are not connected.

This, there is no compassion for the below average.

Live in cheaper conditions. Multiple people can split rent on a studio apartment, you know.

Are americans stupid enough to work in a fast food restaurant for 4 buckoos + tips?
Are americans stupid enough to actually tip in a fast food restaurant?

Based. When will wagies learn?

Attached: wagecage.jpg (848x522, 267K)

They spit in your food the next time you visit if you didn't tip the previous time.

everyone but the CEO of a company should not be paid, period, they should work for the joy of making money for the CEO

It takes luck and effort to even get a fast food wagie these days thanks to unskilled retarded millenials

just another game to save money. the people that don't make enough tips will get fired and they'll find some other sucker to fill his place and start the whole thing over again trying to find someone that makes enough tips so they can pay shit and get away with it.

>Next year Americans start making $2/hr plus coupon for free burger

Attached: 1394677007584.jpg (244x209, 24K)

a coupon? holy shit, look at the benefits on offer at this place

First off, it doesn't matter who you know, nobody's going to hand you over success in a silver platter. Second, It's easier than ever to get to know people, quit being stupid.

>bro its easy
>vast majority of people 20-30 are broke as shit

Jobs are just opportunities. There's no such thing as a bad job.

Attached: pledge.jpg (550x372, 87K)

>it doesn't matter who you know, nobody's going to hand you over success in a silver platter
Ask me how I know you've never had a job
Go ahead, do it

textbook smug boomer face

>261 people have applied to this job

Neither of those is true actually. It even says right there the entire staff at all stores where this became a policy quit. And it was specifically because nobody tips at fast food restaurants.

This was pure scummy behavior and now they have to restaff 3 entire restaurants while having their scummy policies known to the entire country.

>vast majority of people 20-30 are broke as shit
And the vast majority of people are retarded too, your point?
I've never been employed by anyone else because I'm not some pathetic servile retard like you.

>5 years experience and master's degree required

Oh, so you admit you've never had a job in the traditional sense and thus have no experience backing up anything you say related to having a job, again, in the traditional sense of being at or near the bottom of some corporate/retail ladder and having to deal with moving your way up.
Amazing to see how your ego prevails though, though I'm sure being the master of your ship like you are with your own business leaves you with ego to spare, wanna larp and/or brag about all your stuff? That make you feel good big boy?

if everyone quits we can replace them with robots rather than firing them to replace them with robots

>I used to make 3x that, doing fuck all.
would you say your job position was useless?

Holy fucking shit the asspain in this post is incredible. lmao. Guess what though, numbnuts: Even more so than as some wageslave animal like you clearly are, freelance work requires knowing people. But unlike that other drooling wageslave animal up there believes, it's not everything, and it must definitely is not some incredibly difficult or impossible task. If you spent less time being asspained and more time actually working on yourself you wouldn't have to be some wage animal. Stay ragie wagie!

>Must be able to work weekends

Protip: If you get tips, your minimum wage is actually $2.13. They were being paid OVER the minimum.

>There are no state laws, only federal

Attached: 27.png (638x359, 247K)

So unskilled workers should be shot and killed on sight? They clearly don't deserve to live in your eyes

>guy that makes inordinate amounts of money to
do actual labor like one day a month giving lectures on pulling oneself up by the bootstraps and working hard

Just bring back unions for fuck sake. Look up the history of organized labor. That's some based shit. Wildcat strikes are awesome.

Completely slipped my mind

Man Indiana's a worse shithole than I thought

how tf are you supposed to live off tips at fucking sonic?

youre supposed to suck it up and find 20 people to live with bucko

I'm the guy you were originally replying to when you said I was but I still agree with the guy who took my place here: - I was going to say the same thing.

I have a job (even if he doesn't). What's your argument now?

Attached: 1551221857008.gif (511x512, 105K)

I'm assuming that was the joke when the owners made this decision.
>It's OK, user, at least you could still get tips!
It's a small step above saying you make $4/hr plus charity.

You are paid what your work is worth. Don't like it, get a better job. Simple as that.

>He doesn't know about the unions

Yep, keep paying your dues user, when the company moves overseas because they're sick of hearing the demands of your upper-middle class reps who totally understand what the working class needs, they will completely have your back.

THE TIME IS NOW COMRADES

Attached: IMG_0450.jpg (595x627, 49K)

Low Skill workers? More like D-Class citizens!

Attached: What low skill workers deserve when they get sick.jpg (1280x720, 102K)

I mean no one should be paid below min wage.

That said, those itt complaining of not being able to survive on fast fits jobs, that's kind of the point. These jobs are meant for teenagers to buy pot and beer with. They're not meant to support a house and kids with.

>Just accept increasingly lower wages as totally normal
Good goy.

Attached: pay.png (1280x720, 95K)

Nice slippery slope.

There's tons of programs out there to help people step into better paying jobs. Hell, if you're broke and getting paid $8 an hour, FAFSA will literally pay for you to go to a state university.

You're also not meant to clean your ears with Q-tips, drive somewhere less than 3 miles away, not work overtime without extra pay (which is usual in big-chain stores)

This. Although supporting a house in this era is a fucking travesty either way, bills are going up every damn year while services seem to be getting worse.

>Just bring back unions for fuck sake.
How the fuck do you unionize fast food? Unions only work for skilled workers.

>These jobs are meant for teenagers to buy pot and beer with. They're not meant to support a house and kids with.
yes and these fast food jobs are preparing them for what? other fast food jobs? how do you progress your way up to not make money only meant to buy "pot and beer" with? also this a brainlet-tier opinion, especially with the absolutely ridiculous amount of surplus wealth generated from the labor these kids are only getting pot and beer money with. all of this money goes to someone doing essentially no work, filling a basically permanent gap in the market that these kids never had any chance to fill because they weren't born in the right time or place with rich parents for startup capital

then we get a continuation of increasing intergenerational wealth, and larger and larger gap between wages and surplus wealth generated

it doesn't matter who you think these jobs are for, that's entirely irrelevant to the debate unless you are absolutely fucking braindead

>ITT a bunch of neets tell people to just make more money and stop being poor

>continues talking about shit unrelated to the thread, which is essentially about when you're working at a non freelance job and something out of your control is changed that drastically affects you, in this case its just super extreme
But you're calling me mad.
We get it, you called us names now we know you're superior to us, you're a very big man, but shouldn't you be gone by now dealing with some kind of very big important freelance work?

That's reality though. If you have no skills you work a mcjob or retail for barely enough to live on.

Also, we already have the technology to automate these jobs. All it would take is a few years of competition between suppliers to drive prices down to a level where businesses are willing to eat the up front cost of them, but currently there's no real demand for automated labor because of the low wages.

I'm actually waiting for national minimum wage to get set to something ridiculous like $20/h under some wannabe socialist just so I can finally see the automation boom take off and no longer have to deal with incompetent fuckwits when I go shopping or to fast food joints.

There's no job that can't be automated.

What's your point?

At the end of the day, there's no way to justify pressing buttons on a point of sale screen or putting merchandise on shelves is worth $50k a year.

There are tons of options out there in 2019 to improve what you are able to offer a potential employer.

Stop immigration then, if you weren't flooding the country with millions of foreigners the value of labour would increase, when there are no workers to be had companies HAVE to offer decent wages and benefits to get you on board and stop other companies from trying to steal you. They are also more likely to invest in you as you are no longer just someone who they can afford to get rid of meaning more training, more qualifications, higher job worth.

Don't even get me started on the fact that infrastructure prices would begin to level out and house prices would drop with the value of the land, the whole system ics connected and a huge knock on effect would begin if you plebs dealt with migration.

even $20 an hour is a joke where i live. that's very low middle class.

Yes, with enough R&D we can automate pretty much everything. But some stuff is easier to automate than others. Anything that requires creativity will need machine learning to replace it, and we're still a long way off from machine learning being viable for anything. Once they figure it out though, 90% of programmers will be out of a job, unless they all take huge paycuts to stay under the cost of hiring a programmer AI.

Just go to law school idiots. Lawyers earn $190k starting if you get into biglaw. I'll make ~$275k with bonus this year in my third year.

Teaching can't. Children biologically need to be taught by a human.

>it doesn't matter who you think these jobs are for, that's entirely irrelevant to the debate unless you are absolutely fucking braindead

So because you cannot debate his point it doesn't matter and only someone "braindead" would use an argument that you're too braindead to answer? That's not stupid user, that's winning a debate.

This is a wonderful exercise in market forces. The people who used to work at the Sonic's are going to go onto work at competitors, and Sonic is going to either lift their wages backup or fall off the fucking planet.
If you think Sonic's decision was stupid, then share this news with people you know, and start a boycott on Sonic. If you do that, things will change very quickly.
You're right. Most of the people working there are young, and will build valuable skills down the road.
No.
NPC emotional 'argument'.

THE ONLY PEOPLE WHO WORK THESE JOBS AFTER 20 ARE LOW IQ BRAINLETS.

Attached: 8QMeC.gif (309x360, 309K)

I wasn't born with a high enough IQ to be a lawyer, doctor, engineer, statistician or any other high paying job. Tell me how it's fair that some people get paid more than others because they were born a different way.

Tell me how it's fair that a useless person like you wastes valuable resources by continuing to live?

>how do you progress your way up to not make money only meant to buy "pot and beer" with
Are you really this stupid? There's a ton of ways.

>go to school in a program that's not retarded
The government literally pays for you if you're too poor to afford it yourself, same with trade school
>Learn skills for cheap or even free using the internet on sites like Udemy
>Start a manual labor business like mowing lawns or some other menial task no one wants to do
>go outside and market yourself to companies and get an apprenticeship somewhere
>work your way up

There's a ton of ways that millions of people do every year to not be some poor fast food worker. Find a way that works for you. You're not some special robot snowflake who these ways can't work for.

You have to tip at Sonic?

lmao these types of threads really are all the same thing, you people are all so unbelievably boring

Fuck off mate, that kid from the Jungle Book was raised by a wolf.

No, they'll keep them on to stiffle competition, it's not enough to run a monopoly if it means pissing off the kind of nerds who will be ensuring they have the skills to take down your security systems.

Working man declaring war against AI soon lands.

>>continues talking about shit unrelated to the thread
Are you really so stupid you can't even follow a simple conversation? Let me break this down for you: The thread is about discussion about fair wages. As part of this discussion comes the argument that "You are paid what your work is worth." Therefore, if you want more money, do work that's worth more. Some retard wage animal thought that A) that knowing people is more important than having good skills B) getting to know people that can help you is somehow difficult.
If this is difficult for you to follow, then really it's no wonder you're some angry poorfag wageslave.
>shouldn't you be gone by now dealing with some kind of very big important freelance work?
That's the beauty of it wageslave-kun! Unlike you, I'm not bound to strict schedules or anything like that. I am not some slave. Nice job trying to hid your butthurt though, lol.

Tell me how it's fair that some people are tall, or that women have an easier time getting laid than men, or that some people are born in first world countries. What exactly are you proposing to fix all of this? Maybe try being a janitor I guess?

That you don't pay enough attention, then.
I've worked in retail long enough to see and hear about bus loads of people who could fuck up as bad as they want but because they're related to someone or married to someone who literally handed them the job, and generally subsequent promotions/favorable reviews so they can get higher pay raises and shit.
Not only that, but I've talked to enough skilled laborers who couldn't find work in their field and old people nearing/out of retirement who had real jobs that confirmed all this shit happens in enough other fields that I feel confident in saying that this is like when if you don't know who the ugly one in you friend group is, its you.

>yes and these fast food jobs are preparing them for what?
They have no obligation to prepare anyone for anything, except how to fulfill the position they are assigned to, and that's jut for internal efficiecy's sake, not for anything else. You want to be prepared for a real job? Study and / or practice for something else on your own damn time.

>Tell me how it's fair that some people get paid more than others because they were born a different way.

Because some animals get to eat more than others because of the way they were born, and some plants live much longer than others because of the way they were born. It's called evolution. How is it fair to clip a bird's wings just because some animals can't fly?

>Got tricked by STEM OR BUST
>Nobody told me its actually sTEm OR BUST
>Choose Biochemistry because I like bio and chem and want to get a PhD
>Graduate with a 3.0

>Professors and academic adviser all said it was a good idea and I'd gain a lot of experience
>Literally stuck in permatemp hell bouncing around $20/Hr, no benefit contracts that always end early, or sucking it up and working a shitty $15/Hr Lab tech role and get abused by the "smart" Post docs (even though they only make $45,000
Currently started code academy because working in a lab is terrible

It has nothing to do with 'IQ', that's a cope excuse to pretend you haven't wasted time. We all waste time and its fine as long as you recognize your mistakes and find methods of refining your abilities and skill-set in your own time. Also whilst there are far higher boundaries towards being a doctor or an engineer; more or less anyone can be an engineer provided that they put in the effort, it isn't as 'high-grade' as its made out to be and the media representation of them is a far-call from real life.

I'm not saying that you necessarily should strive to be one or even enter a white-collar career, though you should certainly take the steps to improve the footprints you leave throughout your existence and attempt to provide a positive influence however minor it may be - and for sure attaining some goal may help (though contrary to /sig/ or any other 'self-help' guide you don't need to believe in it, merely become the machine that'll replace you cruel as life may be).

Attached: Asking anon if they wish for a Monster energy drink can.jpg (960x848, 141K)

*doctor or a lawyer

Kek literally no way out for you bucko

It's possible to become those things even with a lower IQ. Just means you have to work a bit harder to learn the material in school.

You don't honestly believe every white collar professional is atop the IQ bell curve, right?

But succeeding in life actually takes work, and it's just easier to complain on Jow Forums every day about how life isn't fair and that's the reason you're a loser.

What a wall of text for someone who isn't mad, lol.
Not even gonna read it, I like talking to this new guy now because it really doesn't matter who the 'real' user is that made the previous posts.
You can count this as a win, I'm totally just taking an excuse to stop arguing with you because you've so masterfully proven that I'm mad.
At least that's the light I think you should paint this in when you post about this on discord

Also I fucked up
>who can fuck up as bad as they want and have nothing happen because [...]
no idea why I just wrote but there.

The actual situation is trimming a lion's mane so that countess meerkats don't starve or die from preventable diseases.

>Tell me how it's fair that some people get paid more than others because they were born a different way.
What is the alternative? The smart, strong and intrepid are to be leeched off by the stupid, weak cowards?

well its not like people make their lviing working on these kinds of stores... this is an extra job or maby one of multiple small jobs that make up a livable wage.

the actual actual situation is gonna stay the same until we stop letting people play games with analogies instead of just making them admit in clear black and white terms what the cause and effect of things are so they can make their own decisions.

Imagine living in a country where one (1) full time job at 40hr a week can't suatain you

Attached: 1551352059571.png (560x840, 249K)

I'm trying to just get out the lab anyway I can. Its weird that I've seen a bunch of QA supervisor roles that only require an associates and a couple years of experience, but they start at $60,000, while I know people with Masters and 5+ years of experience that don't make that much. Everybody looks so dead in every lab I've worked in and the only "happy" ones are the ones that delude themselves by constantly repeating their "I love science" mantra. Know a 34 year old post doc in industry that has been stuck on the post doc treadmill averaging ~$50,000 a year and he told me he realized he wasted his entire 20s studying for a job he'll never get when he could've been earning money.

its funny when you realize its a skinny virgin writing posts like this

>I've worked in retail long enough to see and hear about bus loads of people who could fuck up as bad as they want but because they're related to someone or married to someone who literally handed them the job, and generally subsequent promotions/favorable reviews so they can get higher pay raises and shit.
Nepotism will always be there, yes. But you don't need it in order to do well. And to loop it to the original topic, anyone working in retail doing a basic job doesn't have valuable skills.
>Not only that, but I've talked to enough skilled laborers who couldn't find work in their field
Labourers should get more valuable skills then.

>You'll die because I make more than you
What? Hey man, I'm all for lessening regulations so you'd be allowed to go hunt or farm on public lands, but other than that, no one owes you a living or money.

>I'm not mad, YOU'RE the one that's angry
The absolute STATE of wageslaves.

all you have to do is be smart enough to stay one step ahead in coding the coders coding the coders
easy, just start with fizzbuzz and take it from there

If you were put on a jungle island to survive on your own and had to farm/hunt, would you work more or less than 40 hrs/week? What kind of life exactly would you be living?

Now why are you owed anything more than the life you could live on your own? Surely the options society provides you are better than the self-survival hours and/or quality of life.

Please do. Then we can withdraw from the economy en-masse and drink in your delicious treats as your infrastructure crumbles. If we're not allowed to profit from our association, why would we pursue it?
