i just don't want to get brain damage

same

study shows 50% of high schoolers who played football have some kind of head damage.

what's wrong with a little brain damage?

the air causes some brain damage from carbon monoxide

cutting 20 pounds before every weigh in and then putting 80% of it back on within days before the fight just doesn't seem very healthy

also there's that whole punch drunk thing. i wanna be able to wipe my own ass when i'm 50.

otherwise it's a great sport, very fun, good for you, ultimate warrior type shit.

No, I'm afraid of the obvious, serious risk that every boxer succumbs to if they stay in the sport long enough.

yeah fuck brain damage brah
CTE can ruin your life

This. I would 100% box if it wasn't terrible for your brain

jesus

>breathing causes brain damage
this is why i dont box

Did it for a year, got some idea of the concepts behind striking, then moved to judo for long term martial arts without the brain damage. Maybe when I'm older I'll move into BJJ for a change to a martial art that doesn't involve as much slamming into the ground

>cutting 20 pounds before every weigh in and then putting 80% of it back on within days before the fight just doesn't seem very healthy
No one is telling you to go pro.

dude being slammed is like being tackled
it's more impact than a punch to your head

>Judo is worse than boxing for brain damage
No it really isn't. Not even fucking close to as bad. Being thrown, when you actually know what the fuck you're doing, isn't nearly as bad as taking a full right cross multiple time during a sparring match.

nah dude you got brain damage

Nice argument coming from someone with 0 experience in either sport

I boxed for 7 years and got a little scholarship money for it.
You have to learn how to fight cause muscles won't do everything for you.

>can't remember how to write his name or tie his shoes
>still has a good left hook

just train boxing, after each gym session I smack a heavy bag around and do some pad work. Fuck getting in the ring for fun, I don't want liquid for brains

>He thinks smacking aheavy bag around is worth anything
It's good cardio but that's it
