I have a stress fracture:(

virgin run vs chad cycle

lmaoing at everyone using running shoes. 130 mpw all summer and the only clothing I'm wearing are my basedboas

oh and every one of those miles are on pavement

run it off pussy

It's raining.

I used to do a cycle of 9-12mph on 2 incline for 1min and 3mph for a minute and 30 for 30minutes or so.

Went on after a while and now I can barely do 6mph at 4 incline for 2min.

Just got into running last week, I ran 7 km on tuesday and 3 km on thursday (I was still tired of the last time). Last time I ran was 4 years ago, is this good?

who here /heavy/

I gained 20lbs since I last run so I'm with you. Not to sound cliche, but depression is a fucking bitch. Nothing like high tailing it back home and just sitting on the coach while your parents feed you McDonalds and Donuts.

For a start yeah, but just keep consistent

>wear asics
>struggle to get a 10:30 mile
>switch to nike
>10min mile without a problem
literally one day after a run too
are asics a meme company

3 miles before the florida rain fucked me again....

7 miles

At this point I'm trying to make it a habit to just run for an hour every morning. 30 minutes somewhere and then turn around and run 30 minutes back.

None. God damn shin splints. Bought shoes with too much cushioning and messed with how I usually run.

same thing happened to me - fell for the kayano meme and got runner's knee. then tried their low drop shoes and they were even worse

switched to brooks ghost for training and nike vaporfly for racing and running faster now with no injuries

None

I swim instead :)

know that feel - my parents eat like slobs and i gain weight every time i visit them

what did u buy

why not do triathlons if you're already doing the "hard" one

But user, it's the first day of summer

I was running with my shirt off cuz it was extremely humid. After about 2 miles I had to piss bad so I ran into the woods/ thicket. I went deep inside cuz I didn't want any cars or other runners to happen upon me and see my little penis(which shrinks even smaller when I run). After my piss I got caught in the briars and scratched my back up. No bother I continued on my run. I have never received so much attention from other females in my life. All these girls of different ages were giggling and wavi g as ran by. I was even catcalled on several occasions. But due to social anxiety I ran faster to get out of the situation. It was only then I realized they were interested because they thought I got those scratches from having sex. That is all. Had to share cuz most women ignore me. Ran 6 miles today.

Ghost is a based trainer. I also hated asics, couldn't stand them even just trying on in store. Gel is crap imo, air is better, and flexion plate is goat

nice run user hope u had a nice smoothie after

I think I am developing shin splints.

Because I just started seriously exercising a couple months ago

Plus I started with running first and my form sucked so I gave myself stress fractures. I like swimming better anyway but I'll probably do uphill sprints once I'm all healed on top of water cardio

As far as triathlon I don't think I even have the time to train for that between job-cooking-eating-sleeping-swimming-strength training

yeah it is a huge time-suck but they are pretty fun

So, there is a sport store near me that has some program where they basically pick out shoes for me based on how i ran on a treadmill. is this snake oil or legit? Also how do i get over shin splints?

its legit to know if you pronate (and need stability shoes) vs not (neutral shoes). can't tell from just walking

8 weeks in now and I completed my first half marathon just under 2 hours. Very happy with this progress.

Or you may be one of the few underpronators that require motion control shoes

>running
>comfy

how did you improve that quickly?

If I can run 10k already, then can train to be able to run a half marathon in 2 months?
I have finished couch to 10k and now I need a new goal. A half marathon would be a great challenge and one marathon/half marathon event is taking place in September.

Just add 3km each week and keep running. I do Sunday and Tuesday a 1hour run and Thursday the long run.

No problem. Just increase your weekly long run by 1mi/wk.

running is actually the greatest form of active mogging out

I have my own stories, but one time I witnessed the greatest single feat of pulling pussy and mogging I'd ever witnessed

One day I'm walking around charleston SC with my gf during the summer, out of nowhere this literal 6'5 behemoth, shredded to the bone literally runs down the fucking road, in the middle of the fucking road, shirtless, and he had a pace that matched a slow car.

I literally witnessed every single person on the main street of charleston turn their heads and mire him as he went down the street

the mogging was so bad I myself even had to play it off in front of my girlfriend, I was like that guy has good pace

Genuinely could have picked any girl off the street, threw her over his shoulder, and took her back to his cave, and they would be more than delighted

What is your 5k time? I ran 5k for the first time ever, and my time was 33:55

Anyone can give me recommendations on running shoes? After months of research (trying to save money to buy a 150$ pair) I found that Nike and Brooks are best choices. I am leaning towards Brooks (Ghost 11) but I don’t want to make a bad cop because I don’t have a lot of money. I have a neutral arch and no pronation/supation. I’m 6’ 185lbs (in case that matter ((running stride and all that)) ). I want something that I can do long distance running in, but also sprinting sometimes.

I have quite a bit, just want to see what you anons think.

Tore the fuck out of my left ankle, hurts to run/walk long distances. Maybe I should try swimming instead?

You either have a terrible running form and/or you're overweight. So stop heel striking and also lose some weight.

Mile or kilometers? I run 5 km with a pace of 4:30. Can't really go any faster it seems.

It really depends on your running form, your weight, your overall strength and the type of surface you usually run on. I've been running for a long time and have a decent running form so I bought meme balance minimus and soles which give me some cushioning when running on hard surfaces.

I always advocate against shoes with high drop as those encourage heel striking. Also heavily cushioned shoes mess up with the legs mechanics and you lose some energy to the cushioning. One more thing: don't buy the same shoes over and over again. If you use the same type of shoes for a long time you're straining your joints/muscles/tendons in the same way all the time which could lead to injuries later. Mix them up a bit if you're running a lot.

I'm doing something that's causing my left calf to randomly decide to explode when running more than 2 miles

It seems to come on when I try to push the pace, last night I had to stop at the halfway pint of my run because I was afraid I was going to tear something in the rear of my calf the pain was that bad and my legs rom was so limited I limped home at about 3mph,this morning it's fine

I ran 10 miles non stop last Friday no problem and did my best 6 miler ever on Monday, going much faster than I was last night

I do dynamic stretches before setting out, static stretches afterward, have a pair of good shoes, specialist insoles for my flat feet, and am not overweight, run with a mid foot strike

What do, should I add some specific stretch that deals only wih the calves

Cycle really better than running?

*or do I change my shoes or what?

I read a paper some time ago that implied stretching before a run is not only useless at preventing injuries but it also put a lot of stress on your muscles which subsequently work worse than non-streched muscles.

What I do instead is I walk for at least a couple hundreds of meters and I increase my pace steadily. Then I do some squats and start running. Never had any problems this way.

Also you sure the pain wasn't actually cramps? Supplement magnesium if it happens a lot.

Okay, I'm going to leave it to Monday then I'll give this a go

What do I do about dull pain in knees? Cardio really fucked them, will I need to rest for months?

It’s better at cluttering up the roads and giving you ED, but it’s less applicable to life/sport

Just go try them on in store. If you're feeling scummy you can just leave and then buy them online, but it's courteous to buy a pair from the people who help you out (and buy future pairs online).

6km
I am on the last week of c25k.
Recommend it, I couldnt run a minute straight at start of may.

Not that far, just a morning jog on the cliffside overlooking the town. While everyone else were sleeping off their buzz from last night in the tent.
They came out to see the sunrise, but went back to sleep immediately afterwards.
I did my calisthenics morning routine.
I bet their heads hurt now and they feel sick, but ultimately satisfied.
I'm suicidal.

I fucked my knee today running. Shouldn't have gone all out these last few days. Will a compression thing help to prevent future injuries/pain ?
Another question, anyone knows a pair of durable running shoes ? All shoes I buy end up getting fucked up near my tiny toe. A hole just appears there after a few hundred kms.
