I can handle taking the water to the exact middle where it feels essentially room temperature then moving the nob a tiny bit towards the cold where it gets nice and cool, a bit uncomfortable but definitely bearable.
It's absolutely miserable though if the knob is deep into the cold side though. What do?

I like taking a warm shower while using soap/body wash/conditioner, then I just blast the cold for a minute before getting out. You don’t have to go max cold, maybe halfway between lukewarm and max cold is a good starting point.

I like to wait until midnight when the water gets really cold. Ive been taking cold showers for about 3-4 years. The last year I took only one hot shower to know what it feels.

I would say its way better than hor showers and the hair doesnt feel like straws after usinf hor water plus shampoo.

If you can't handle cold showers at least make sure you turn the temp down to luke warm when you wash your hair.

overproduction of earwax is a common trait in my family, which has never really been a problem for me since I always used to do warm showers. Now that I'm doing cold showers, I've noticed I've been getting ear-aches through the day, since the warm water at the start of the day is no longer melting it inside my head.

Just avoid hot water when washing your hair. Hot water is bad for your hair. Doesn't mean you have to take cold showers, you can take lukewarm showers too.
Or you can take hot showers when washing your body than turn the temp down a bit when you wash your hair

Started takign exclusively cold showers after workouts and runs. That's probably the only way you can take them anyway without it feeling uncomfortable. You don't take them while you're calm and relaxed, with a lowered body temperature. You take them after your body has gone through a good amount of exertion and thermoregulation is in full gear.
Try it next time you finish a workout session or come back from running. Just turn the knob halfway towards cold and just take it. You won't even feel it. For extra points, if you have a sauna, just blast yourself with 100% cold for like half a minute and then immediately get in a nice 100C sauna. Best shit ever.
actually I read its not good to take it immidately after hard workouts. you lose some benefits of what happens when u rush straight to recovery mode with cold water. Ice baths and cold showers are most optimal like an hour after workout.
Sauna is different story, the contrast thing is goat.
