if he lifts more than me (currently 175 lb bw and bench 255x5) he is on steroids.

200lbs of that is from the lifting shirt.

>single ply
Sure he is

Seen a workmates son at gym, 16 yrs old and heads to the squat rack, fucker chucked on 3.5 pl8 for reps, I was very impressed.

Prolly natty. Some people are born with freakish genetics.

Good old narcissism I see
>If he can lift more than me he must be on steroids. Junky loser.
>If he can't lift as much as me then he'll never make it. DYEL bro?
Is it so hard to be impressed by a young man achieving his goals?

>16 years old
>405 lb bench press

This is such a common thing among 16 year olds you guys ! You are all narcissist tee hee !

When I was in highschool, there was this fucking troll of a kid that played foodball, and he hit 405 when he was 16. Set some local record and was on the local news. It's not unheard of

I was in the 300's at 16. Some of my buddies (who went on to play d1 football) were benching around 400. They may have been freaks but it's definitely possible with hard work

I saw a big guy hit 435 at 17. I hit 405 at 22.

one guy on the internet doesnt mean its "common" you fucking retard.
1/1000 has top 0.1% genetics, it has to be someone

He's wearing a fucking bench shirt dumb fuck. People who bench 400lbs raw bench 700+ in a shirt.

There was a kid at my high school a few years ago that benched 435. I am 17 with a bench of 365. If you actually focus on a specific lift, its not that hard.

How is he so small with those kinds of numbers? does he have special technique?

Is this kid natty too?

My principal was able to bench 300 his freshman year

Power lifting and strength training versus higher reps and body building
Some good football or sports coaches and great genetics
That special shirt he's wearing allows him to lift at least 75 lbs more
Wider grip on the bar too

He's wearing a bench shirt. And is doing the gay ass powerlifting rainbow arch.

How's a shirt help you?

not him bit the way I understand it is its like a resistance band that pulls your arms together to make the press up easier

It supports the shoulders and delts, making it easier to lift heavy weight
It's not allowed in most lifting competitions
>Scot Mendelson, whose shirted bench press record is 1030 lbs, while his unshirted best is 715 lbs
I'm thinking the kid's raw bench is high 200's or low 300's, which is still impressive

its 365

whats the point of it? I hear that you have to train to be able to use it properly, so does that means you’re working a whole different set of muscles? if so is the goal of powerlifting just to lift the weight up in a certain way regardless of what muscles you use?
t. newb

That's still a great number

I've never used one myself.
Powerlifting is based on the bench, squat, and deadlift. Your goal is the maximum amount of weight on a single rep. So yeah, it's not about using one specific muscle group, you're generally using your whole body to move the weight.

MODS!!!! MODSSS!!!!!!

Powerlifting vs Geared Powerlifting.
The extra gear helps you move more weight.
Theres squat suits that help you up, deadlift suits that help you up.
I honestly dont understand the point.
I mean, i hate all powerfat stuff, but i get the point in the raw, ungeared lifting.

Is he benching in a bench shirt? If he is that added like 100 lbs

From the way I see it, you never see a casual ever get in to a shirt/suit. Based on observations on the ones who do, equipped lifting is for people who have decided powerlifting is their number 1 passion in life, and have moved to the equipment because raw lifting has gotten too boring. Similar thing occured to me but I just moved to Olympic lifting.

Thats not how it works

>calls other people dumbfucks

lol

For reference the rock claims he can bench 425lbs, and that's while been 6'6", weighing 260lbs, training for years and been on gear. This kid is 100% not natty

You have no fucking clue how what single ply is, don't you?

>being born with freak genetics is more likely than just taking roids

Lmao.

16 year old powershitter hitting 405 in powershitting gear. It wouldn't be ridiculous that he could be natty but he may be using some PEDs even if he isn't on steroids.

but did he count the bar?

gay

Took me years to bench 1 pl8

Really?
Didnt think he is THAT weak

my 16 year old cousin *ahem* benches 286lbs for reps after 1.5 years of lifting. teens have a lot of testosterone from puberty, easily gain strength and muscle.

Lol wtf, guess he never trains for strength?

It's a singlet you retard this is raw with belt and wrist wraps

>comparing a guy who trains for aesthetics vs guy who trains for strength

they're both literally wearing bench shirts you cretin

Guys, all seriousness for a me pomegranate.
When this guy is 60 he’ll go up to young kids in the gym and say, yup back in the day I could lift at least 400. Yup.
