How do I safely do an extended fast?
>Take snake juice, or just supplement electrolytes.
>Water=2L
>Potassium chloride =1 tsp (No Salt)
>Sodium chloride = 1/2 tsp (Himalayan Pink Salt)
>Sodium Bicarbonate = 1 tsp (Baking Soda)
>Magnesium Sulphate = 1/2 tsp (Food Grade Epsom Salts)

Mid 30s 5’9” 145lb float between 10-12%. Been doing some sort of fasting for years now and been at a deficit for that long. I wanna eat more but terrified to lose my abs and get fat. I think about food too much and idk what to do. I feel backed into a corner.

Fasting has helped me to no longer succumb to my hunger. That alone is well worth it.

How fat are you? I was doing ADF at ~2000 kcals but felt stressed and shitty all the time. I'm probably around 15% BF (5'11 174). Switched to regular keto at a deficit and felt great. Was having too difficult of a time recovering from workouts the other way and felt like shit all the time.

Ah for sure. Keep at it then. Might want to up activity, but it doesn't sound like you're that much below what you should be losing.

The deficit isn't the problem then. You haven't been doing this for long, but in my experience you should be dropping quicker. Making the fasts dry for those 48 hours would most definitely help, but barring that. If you eat before going to sleep, that's gonna be better for bulking, but if you're trying to lose weight, eat when you wake up, on the day that you train. If you eat at breakfast, you can get away with a lot more carbs too, and will have a lot more strength in the gym. Thing is, whatever the case, your eating window has to be fucking small. Try 1 hour, maybe 2, then let 48 (or 46, whatever) hours pass, and eat again. No fucking lunch in the evening. With these parameters, no way you don't see results, dry or otherwise.
Honestly, you'd see results with just 24h firsts, but dial that in after you start getting serious results.

Just had some bone broth after my first 3 day fast, how long should I wait before eating actual food again?

I was starting to feel weak and had this weird sensation like my body was struggling to make enough energy to keep up with my daily activities so am ending the fast now, was meant to go a bit longer

If I do 3 days and have been drinking the snake I break my fast first with a shot of ACV wait 15 min then a couple small pieces of fruit. I wait anywhere from 15-30 min and eat a pound of lean boneless skinless chicken breast and vegetables with no issues. I do this often though so YMMV

First time I did a 3 day, I demolished some fried chicken. Didn't have any fecal urgency afterwards. It's only after i've done a 7+ day that I have to actually take some time to get used to food again.

Okay, so here's what I've done. I ate at a deficit yesterday around 2 pm, then I worked out for about an hour and didn't eat again. That was 20 hours ago as of now, and I'm wondering if I should just keep the fast going and do another workout, or if I should break my fast at the 24 hour mark, eat at deficit, and then workout.

I only do resistance training. Nothing else right now.

what will fasting do to my metabolism, will it speed it up or slow it down?

I started fasting saturday night, monday i drank only 1 cup of plain tea, coffee and 2L water, however i also chewed and spat bread that morning, did not swallow anything. Is this ok?

Also i was wondering once the fasting period is done (bit over 2 days) how much food can i consume? Does it still need to be under my tdee? Is it better if i feed myself keto related foods than carbs?

it you've only fasted for two days, you don't need to really be concerned with how much food you eat. you only need to really care after long, 7+ days fasts.
that said, if you want to lose weight, you should be eating at a deficit regardless. keto helps a lot, yeah. it's also really easy to jump back into a fast if you've been on keto for a few days leading up to it

I'm pretty sure if you fast on just pure water, your metabolism slows down. On snake juice however, it doesn't slow down. Don't remember if it gets faster.

Depends on how much you ate and how used you are to fasting. I enter ketosis about 12h after my last meal if I work out and it wasn't an OMAD size meal.
For the gym, I noticed my strength wasn't really lower but my endurance had gone to shit. I could only squat like 3 reps close to my working weight before needing to tap out but I could do the same heavy doubles as before.
It's advisable that whatever you do doesn't require you to recover too much because when you don't eat your recovery is tanked as well. Going lighter (~80%) just to keep the muscle stimulated is a good idea, but you might as well forgo weight training entirely and just do a fuckton of cardio

Assuming normal activity around 24 hours you're out of liver glycogen and all other circulating carbs, 48 hours is where you really start to feel it and start entering ketosis and by day 5 of not eating you're getting up to higher levels of circulating ketones.

If you feel weird, take some snake juice. If you feel hungry, you will have learnt by that point that hunger leaves after a while if you ignore it (occupy yourself during that time with physical activity). If you manage to get to 72, you can straight fast until more or less lean, like 16% bf and below
